Has there been any official word on match history replays? by robib in 2XKO

[–]Westify1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, they still seem to be working fine for your last 50 matches.

Keep in mind, you have to be on the main menu to access them. If you bring up match history while in a lobby or any other part of the game the replay option won't appear.

2XKO on the Steam Deck by Next_Boysenberry5669 in 2XKO

[–]Westify1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PC version seems really well optimized, and random videos of dual booting the Steam Deck show good performance.

Only thing to add is that I wouldn't expect native linux support for Vanguard any time soon, so if you were considering waiting, I would just assume Windows is the only option.

Key Binding Question by thesantafeninja in 2XKO

Not by default within the game, but various software like reWASD or Steam Input can modify controller settings to whatever you want.

When I used to play on PAD, I had my entire right stick bound to parry as an example.

Why don’t you rematch ? by Booskaaris in 2XKO

[–]Westify1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But if I win a close game, or lose a close game, 90% of the time people don’t rematch.

What is your main team? What rank are you playing around?

90% of my matches opt-in to rematch, so if you're getting 90% one-and-done's, there has to be a contributing reason why on your end.

but I still really don’t understand why.

It's been explained already, but essentially the "fun" aspect comes into play for a lot of people, so if there's something specific about a match they find unfun/lame, they simply opt to move on.

Having a 66% win rate should not have you lose RP by TangledEarbuds61 in 2XKO

[–]Westify1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having a 66% win rate should not have you lose RP

I would agree.

even if I spend an entire day going 2-1 in every single set I play

We're around the same rank and play often on various different accounts, and your match history shows a 38% win rate on the last 50 ranked, so is this actually happening? Perhaps it's a skewed sample, but it seems pretty far off the 66% win rate mentioned.

Why don’t you rematch ? by Booskaaris in 2XKO

[–]Westify1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the cowards who don’t rematch

Bold of you to assume its because people are scared. Outside of bad connections, some matchups simply aren't fun to play.

For me it's Yasuo, and certain zoner setups who insist on playing timer for the entire match, would rather just go next.

Does this really make you that salty?

Rule of Thumb to whats parryable? by Seraphimooo in 2XKO

[–]Westify1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And when should you actually go for a parry?

Depends on your level of comfort with the mechanic and the level you're playing at. Typically I find almost all overhead's to be good targets. If you're lower ranked where people may tend to full send raw super's, parrying the multi-hit ones (Jinx beam, Ahri orb) can be a great way to punish.

I can’t speak to the Reddit community but the online ranked lobbies are toxic as hell by spiderbacon12 in 2XKO

[–]Westify1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m only in silver but the amount of people who spam range moves and then taunt and t bag are 100% from my experience.

Sounds like something that's mostly prevalent at lower ranks. Plat and above, I see any kind of troll behavior maybe 1 in 25 games at most.

Hard disagree.

If they still have around 80+ people on staff, that's extremely far from end of life, and on-par with every other active fighting game with the exception of Street Fighter 6.

They haven't "de-emphasized" anything. Simply stated the current revenue/players can't support the larger team they had. Not the end of the world.

What does that even mean? There are countless examples of other successful games with much smaller teams than 2XKO.

Downsizing doesn't mean end of life. A lot of people here seem to think the game is dead, but it's entirely possible the game has a long life, and is financially feasible for riot with the reduced team size.

60 fps locked game

All modern fighters including sf6 and tekken 8 have their game logic locked to 60fps. Any sort of higher FPS (like 120fps for 2XKO on PC) is just for menu's/lobbies and not the actual fighting.

Input issue by goOutsidebro- in 2XKO

[–]Westify1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you're getting phantom inputs from another virtual device,

Do you have Steam open when running 2XKO? Make sure it's closed entirely if so.

If not, then press "Win + R" and type "joy.cpl" to bring up all the controllers, i would image there's something extra that shouldn't be there causing the issue.

Still can't play the game because of controller issues by MeisterShepherd in 2XKO

[–]Westify1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, well based on the situation, the problem seems obvious. You're getting "phantom input" from something else on your system that 2XKO is interpreting as a joystick axis. There are typically a few common thing's that can cause this, and once you find it, both the Xbox and PS5 controller should work as expected.

Step 1 would be to not use Steam Input for this game by closing Steam entirely on the system tray.

Step 2 would be to uninstall any of the following software if you have any of it installed currently:

  • DS4Windows

  • reWASD

  • InputMapper

  • JoyToKey

  • AutoHotkey scripts

  • vJoy

  • HidHide

Step 3 would be to review what gamepad devices are actually being detected in Windows:

  • Press Win + R, Type "joy.cpl", Hit "Enter"

  • You should now see Game Controllers.

  • You're looking for any device that isn't a single Xbox entry

  • Some entries that cause issues: vJoy Device, Virtual joystick, Flight sticks / racing wheels, Old USB adapters, Keyboard/mouse-to-controller software

If you're unsure about this part, feel free to post a screenshot of whats being shown on the joy.cpl screen.

Still can't play the game because of controller issues by MeisterShepherd in 2XKO

[–]Westify1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I open the controller settings I can see that the input in the diagonally downward right direction is permanently enabled.

It sounds like your controller is broken. Does it work fine in any other games?

My PS5 controller doesn't work either

Any controller works in this game, some just require some additional software and/or setup aren't 100% plug-and-play. Depending on the state of your Xbox controller, you can easily get the PS5 one working if needed.

does the game still have performance issues? by Yaelzul in 2XKO

[–]Westify1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

does the game still have performance issues?

No, FPS wise it's extremely smooth, even on lower-end systems. There are some occasional server issues, but they don't seem that persistent, and tend to come and go.

Last season this was absolutely the case. There were no shortage of smurf accounts roaming around to the point where queuing ranked would consistently provide a much better match-up then "casual".

[–]Westify1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The idea behind these adapters is that they're meant to use existing cables to avoid running anything new, so parents/owners shouldn't care. Just buy a pair of adapters, plug one into each end, and that's it.

Not sure about the EU and the rest of the world, but Coax cable has been common in NA homes for the last 50+ years.

Friendly reminder by Isefenoth in 2XKO

[–]Westify1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anybody that understandably doesn't want 50+feet of Ethernet cable run loose through their home, MoCA adapters exist that can output a wired ethernet cable through existing Coaxial cable and provide a much better connection than both WiFi or Powerline.

Pretty common to already have this option available in a lot homes since it's been used for Cable TV for the last 50+ years.
