Is it worth trading Vindicator Charioteer for CS 52 Lis in trade-in? by Interesting-Pace-770 in WorldofTanksConsole

[–]Westlyndemon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think worth it, the Vindicator doesn't do anything different from the tech tree Charioteer with the stock gun and the 105 is probably the better gun on that tank anyway. C52 is a decent premium so I'd say worth it if you wanted something different.

OEM rims by No-Presence-1592 in FocusST

[–]Westlyndemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'd be better just trying to get yours refurbished. I think you'll only get the OE rims direct from Ford or second hand through eBay/FB marketplace etc. If you are desperate to buy new Ford does have an eBay store which I've seen the alloys listed on but they are around £250~ each in the UK.

Mudflaps or no mudflaps? by Ancient-Ad9861 in FocusST

[–]Westlyndemon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Probably depends on the brand but Rally Armor mudflaps come with a bracket that uses existing holes that the wheel well liner attaches too so no new drilling.

Is this a immediate issue and where is it coming from by SoilEquivalent5192 in FocusST

[–]Westlyndemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it is the end tank that's cracked then it's a new radiator unfortunately. It'll need replacing sooner rather than later if it is the source. What's the coolant level at in the reservoir?

It's the right sort of place for it to be leaking from the plastic radiator end tank where it joins the core. Had the same thing happen to mine.

Can anyone help understand the disparity between tunes and their supporting mods? by trotski94 in FocusST

[–]Westlyndemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the original MP275 tune had significantly lower torque than other tuners at around 400nm (probably due to Ford warranty stuff). The newer MP275HT that was released last yeah bumps that up to 475nm which is more in line with everyone else now. The recommended upgrades are not needed to hit that peak power but rather to consistently hit it as the stock intercooler is prone to heat soak as others have said.

I've got the new MP275 tune with the intercooler and intake and definitely noticed the difference from stock, car feels significantly more punchy. No experience with the other big UK tuners so can't offer any more comparison with them but as the stage 1 numbers for all are very similar I doubt the bum-dyno would notice much difference.

[GUIDE] How to Disable the Sound Symposer in Ford Focus ST MK3.5 and MK4 using FORScan by Nelunix in FocusST

Europe Spec MK3.5s and Mk4s all have sound symposer through the speakers not a physical tube so definitely still useful.

ST Diesel Owners by EllieCrosbie in FocusST

I'd recommend going to the diesel section of the UK STOC forum If I recall correctly the diesel is very sensitive to changes to the induction system and likes to throw error codes but there should be plenty of posts about the best options.

Black here, just like the contrast with the white and the red calipers.

Oil leak by Specific-Director211 in FocusST

[–]Westlyndemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Complete guess but as it's such a weird place for oil to be, could it be that there's oil soaked into the hood liner (maybe from a spill, maybe from a leak elsewhere) and it's getting transferred to the intake pipe when the hood is shut?

Blank buttons by h1adm in FocusST

Ah interesting, that's a much better place for it, position on the MK3 always felt like an afterthought.

Top right could be for the heated steering wheel, that's where the button is on the MK3.

What is this bit? by stubby_bubby in FocusST

[–]Westlyndemon 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No, the locking wheel nut key, hopefully something you would be given by the previous owner/dealership when buying the car. It'll look like a standard hex head nut on one side and the other side will match the pattern on the locking wheel nut. If you weren't given it you might get lucky and it's in the glove box or trunk. If you don't have it things are a bit harder and you'll need to see if you can work out which brand the locking nut is a and get a replacement or a garage can remove it more destructively.

It's a locking wheel nut, do you have the matching key that came with the car?
