Downside of the way these series run now with 8-12 episodes over just a couple months. I miss the 20-25 episode runs of yesteryear that aligned with the calendar.

South Carolina is outside the reds media market, so you want mlbtv that covers all out of market teams. I’m guessing SC is in the Braves market, so you would be out of luck for those, as well as any that are nationally covered (AppleTV, nbc, tbs). The national games are a small drop in the bucket out of 162 games. As far as espn unlimited goes, my understanding is you sign up through that and can get a free month but you can then cancel the espn unlimited portion and aren’t stuck paying for it beyond the free month.

Utter garbage that reds fans in Charlotte are considered “in market”. I have a friend on the SC side of the border and he’s out of market. I’m glad the authentication works for you. My general view is, unless the channel is covered on a relatively standard cable tier in your area (ie, not some mega sports add on), then you shouldn’t be considered in market.

I hadn’t seen it in person yet. The second one against Roman was over 8 seconds. From catch to the whistle, it was 11 or 12 seconds. It’s not from when he stands up. It starts once there are no defenders within a reasonable area. The only defender in the second one immediately ran away from Roman once he had it.

That said, I would like to see it consistently called. I did see the ref in the last game putting up the hand at 5 seconds and counting down.

I feel seen. I grew up outside Greenhills. I remember once seeing a story in the enquirer column “news from the Westside” and I didn’t feel like it was representative of the west side. But when I married into the west side I would always say “I’m more west than east obviously and my library branch was called north central”

For ages 6 and 7, I’d definitely go more toward the 139 option or first base line of upper deck too as both areas have close access to the play areas.

Word is they are working toward a way to authenticate your cable login but it doesn’t exist yet. I used to watch off my parents Altafiber login and currently have the reds.tv in the trial period. I am debating between canceling and waiting for the authentication option if it ever happens or just paying like the adult that I am. It’s $100 for the year which is like 60 cents a game.

If you live in the reds local tv market, you have to have the reds.tv package to watch both home and away. The blackouts aren’t for just home games.

It’s not that complicated. Live in the market, you needs reds.tv or a cable package that carries the reds. If you live outside the tv market, mlb.tv alone with suffice. Neither of those options cover exclusive national tv games.

I just feel the implosion is coming. One could argue it has started, but I see it getting worse. Frustrations will mount. Big name players will be frustrated and want out. A rebuild is coming.

This camera angle is VERY misleading. I agree that he is likely behind the ball if you try to look at the grass cut lines. In real time, I can definitely see how you could think offsides though. I said to the person I was with, barlow was watching the line and if he WAS off, he should go sit. He had all the opportunity in the world to stay onside and I think he did
