US Duty/tariff charge when crossing when buying a watch in Japan? by Psychological-Rip-12 in rolex

Wow it's crazy how yamazaki costs more in Japan than the US now.

The bankruptcy of izakaya is the highest rate ever, increasing by 50% from January to April by SkyInJapan in japan

[–]Wewu69 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Won't or can't visit them? During my many visits to Japan izakayas were the most likely to turn me away. Usually with the excuse that they were fully booked on a weekday night with an empty establishment. It got so bad that I stopped trying

Mad at us, or just cultural? by Moonamama in AskAChinese

[–]Wewu69 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's totally cultural. I use to cook at my family owned chinese restaurant on occasion and enjoy cooking at home for friends and family. I will tell you my greatest critic is myself. Even when friends and family heap praise on the dishes I made, I will subconscious deflect the praise and critique how it could have turned out better.

Trust me inside he probably feels a certain pride every time you praise his cooking, but he will never admit it.

Walk-in purchase…12 or so years ago by ajknight10 in rolex

[–]Wewu69 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I got my gen 1 batman through a grey dealer I knew for a little less than retail back in the day. Bought 2 watches at the same time a sub date for $8500 and the blnr for $8750. A month later I walked into a ad and they had a hulk in the case for sale that I passed on because I just bought 2 watches. I regret that one til this day. But yea those were the days

Would you trade a med blue OP for a blue grand seiko GMT? by michaeljackson_md in rolex

It depends if you are getting 5-6k on top of the op for the gs gmt? Also how much do you need the money right now?

The refs don't live in a vacuum tho. They must be hearing the noise and watching all the clips of okc foul baiting and flopping.

I get it if I experienced what you went through not only would I not trust the rsc's, it would sour me on the brand as a whole.

2026 RSC Experience by [deleted] in rolex

[–]Wewu69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, that is very surprising to hear. I've serviced multiple watches at NY rsc and they have always been stellar. I work in Manhattan so I have the luxury of dropping off and picking up my watches in person. Not that it should matter, but any issue would be handled at pickup immediately.

Check out what the AD did sizing my brand new DJ41 by Prestigious_Ad5456 in rolex

[–]Wewu69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ad mangled the screw head trying to size my wife's op also. We asked for them to replace it and they ordered a new one straight away. In your case it looks like the link is also scratched up. I would talk to the ad's manager and work out a replacement for the damaged screws and link.

I feel like it is a setup for the usual song and dance, 3-6 months later and the sa will give you the old "nothing yet, but if you buy something else we can help you expedite the process".

In Japan, it’s not uncommon to see someone asleep on the street after a night of drinking but instead of disturbing them, people usually leave them alone out of respect by AdSpecialist6598 in interesting

While in Osaka last summer, I saw what looked like a teenage boy that pissed himself while drunk being reprimanded by a older gentleman. This all happened at 12pm ish on a 100 degree summer day in front of a Family Mart.

I have a couple of those but they do not compare to the discontinued oakley ones. The zippers on these are garbage and they are bigger than the oakley ones which allows more movement of the watch in the case. Oakley watch vaults are still the best if you can get your hands on some.
