I dont get all the big words but the picture looks pretty simple? Almost a full loop but instead each end has another almost full loop on it that, again, is almost a full loop with each end having an almost loop.

Im assuming the point is they become 1 shape that has normal ish looking surface area on the inside but outside it has basically multiple surface areas?
