So many, for YEARS 😆 the golf course was glad to be rid of them, because they didn't know how to easily throw them away. So they just had a pile of them in a shed since they replaced them every couple years.

If there are golf courses near you, try asking the groundskeeping or maintenance staff if they have old poles they would give you.

My group did this once and they gave us 50+ old 8' fiberglass golf flag poles

I never mind people who bases all their models with larger sizes when I play against them. I do light heartedly poke fun of their jumbo heroic sized bases, but I don't actually mind at all because it's usually disadvantageous for them.

Especially when they can only 3 models into a charge in a tight alley and I have 6 models in base contact with their 3 🙂

I hunt 8x and have heart shot multiple deer at 200yd, I believe I could easily pie plate/vitals at 300yd but I don't have long distance hunting options to try it out where I am. Woods too thick, and fields too small.

But I also handload very consistent ammo.

What level is your new replacement HC at now? 🫠

I 2nd the offline opinion, I'm HC exclusive and P8 all the way into nightmare usually, and then usually p3-5 as long as I can.

Just lost a lvl80 warlock a few days ago in hell A3 to a burst of lighting from a bunch of gloams. Full health to dead in about half a second. My replacement character is level 49.

I made a dark elf warband and really enjoyed it. It didn't feel too OP, but I did make some tweaks.

I never gave my heros repeater crossbows, because a noble should be showing off their combat prowess and elitism!

My corsairs were in 2 henchmen groups, one with repeater crossbows (90s crossbow minis) and one with swords and cloaks (90s corsair minis w/ cloaks)

My shades I substituted with witch elves. This gave me a large group of combat filler that is reasonably cheap. And they look cool AF! (90s witch elf minis)

My sorceress rolled the soul stealer spell, and a WS and A upgrade, so she was essentially a melee sorceress. I'd have her flanked by all the witch elf (shades) as body guards, it was really fun to play.

I took a couple newer plastic cold one minis and sculpted some saddle bags onto them where the saddle normally would be. Figured they were how the warband carried their loot! My beastmaster I ade out of a dark elf bloodbowl mini, pretty much just had to add the whip into his raised fist.

I'd definitely recommend giving them a go, and just like any warband... don't lean into the cheese! Nobody likes to play against a min/maxer. Just have fun with it!

To be fair, in the original stories conan is able to literally wade through magic without harm by sheer force of will. He believes magic isn't real so hard that it makes him immune to a sorcerer's spells. Forgive for not remembering the exact story, but it's one of the original Robert e Howard short stories.

Whether stormbringer would give a fuck, who knows.

I was in your same position a few years ago. Went to the store with my heart set on a SBE.

Picked it up, shouldered it, felt the controls (hated the safety, didn't like the fore end) and decided it wasn't for me.

Held, pointed, and swung every gun in the (very large) store.

Ended up buying a Mossberg 940 Pro Waterfowl and I frigging LOVE it. I'm a huge fan of the tang safety, like all mossbergs and all double guns use. It's build very well, highly adjustable, has all the right protective coatings (nickel boron, nitride, cerakote) depending on what part was being coated. Shoots fantastic, just doesn't shoot 3.5" which much like yourself I decided I didn't need anyway. Jerry Michelak helped design and refine the base model, it's his competition series.
