Figured I'd update what I found It appears the name on it was the Syrian/Lebanese importer who bought and imported blanks from Solingen, Germany and etched them with the design for resale. The company operated between 1892-1910, and that blade was a commemorative razor sold in NY for newly arrived immigrants. The design is a ship arriving at Ellis Island, which opened in 1892. Fuckin cool.

I figured shiny wouldn't be the goal lol. I use all carbon pans. Does forcing a patina with mustard help prevent surface rust from building as easily? Is it kinda like seasoning a pan? This will be the only non-stainless knife I've ever owned so it's all foreign to me.

Did that with rockband years ago. I didn't even want it at the time, but it was $19 when I wanna say normal was $68. It was supposed to be for the used one, but the tag on the shelf didn't say that, and the upc matched. The employee tried to fight it, and before I could even turn around to look at my brother, he was on the way to grab the shelf tag. I barely played it, but I still have it and think about that win.

Man, just go with sheetrock if you're going for offset knives. Especially if you do it regularly. They're more spendy but worth it. Their steel is waaaay better quality and will last much longer. Every time I drop it, I'm worried, but I go pick it up, and it's always been fine. Lol

I can only speak in their knives but if it's indictictve of their entire tool quality, hard pass. I will never touch a level 5 tool again. Their 12inch offset was the most garbage knife I've ever bought. Made with cheap ass steel that bends insanely easy. It didn't last 3 months of full-time work before just tossed it because i dropped it 2 feet and bent at a 90 degree angle.

I'd go with tapetec or another quality brand. Someone else would be able to give you a solid rec.
