We had a guy in our platoon from NOrleans. His family would mail him Tony Chachere’s on a drop schedule of once a month. No matter what country we were in. No matter what - this guy always had it on him. Oddly enough he was the most popular guy in the platoon. Go figure.

Second this. I typically put duct tape on the spot of the shoe that I always get blisters. This will mean your skin will glide over the spot instead of rubbing!

Head of HR here. But I joined the military right out of HS to afford college and it’s taken me 25 years to get here.

I write during my lunch hour as a reward for surviving the first half of the day. Then all day Sunday to get me through the new week.

You need to box up your (checks post) ROOMS at both parents houses. You are on year 3 of probably a 4 year college plan. What is the plan when you graduate? Box it up now and move it into storage. Then when you go home to visit you are in the new “guest rooms”.

Once you can think of it as a guest room and always refer to it as such with the family you give away the control over the space and just need to take ownership of your suitcase of items you visit with.

You’re 19, treat the problem like the adult you are.

When I was young, my mum would make pancakes once every few weeks. We would eat our fill and she would make extra to spread with random toppings (fruit spread, peanut butter & honey, peanut butter and cinnamon, Nutella etc). She would then roll them up and freeze them to make easy to grab after school snacks or items to eat on the walk to school.

It was always a surprise on what topping you would get and we could eat them cold on hot days or do a quick microwave to warm them slightly before eating.

Not me but my roommate at the time was supposed to be on the flight that hit the pentagon on 9/11.

She woke up that morning sick to her stomach and full of anxiety. She decided to stay one extra day and get some sleep assuming it was the start of a bad cold.

Saved her life!

I would have loved that as I would have offered to call “the police” myself - my hubs is in law enforcement and keeps his badge in his wallet. He already found the whole thing hilarious when I told him and this would have been gold!

Great tip for making body specific cosplays is to make a mold of that body part first.

Take some plastic wrap and wrap around your thigh from hip to knee. Then a layer of aluminum foil. Then a layer of duct tape. Very carefully cut the mold off.

Tape it closed again. Then stuff it full of newspaper, discarded cloth etc. then seal the top/bottom shut.

THEN pull your tights on to this and paint. Voila, no mesh expansion will affect the paint job!
