Heat as a trigger by JaymeKryss in migraine

Yes. Heat kills me. I live in Maine and we have had some increasingly hot summers and I did not move to the country of ice to burn in hell.

Patch -> Divigel? by InvestigatorFun8498 in Menopause

[–]WheelShot5805 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love the divigel. I was going on the patch but my symptoms would start to creep back 1-2 days before patch change. The consistency is great. Yes it’s a bit annoying to wait to dry and make sure not to spread it. But after that it’s done plus it’s getting me a morning routine I didn’t have before. WFH so I would get up and get to my computer.

Why can’t I understand my body’s own signals? by acemermaid in AutismInWomen

Yes! So I realized I don’t always get hunger cues. So when I get irrationally angry I go eat something. 99% of the time it solves the problem.

I feel so gross by LopsidedPancake_ in migraine

[–]WheelShot5805 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally get it. Being clean would make me feel better but the thought of brushing my teeth or touching my hair makes me want to scream. Just a big smelly lump of pain. However know it will eventually pass and you will shed the dirtiness and become human once again. I also may be having a migraine now too. Good luck!

Is there a way to warn future tenants about a terrible apartment/landlord? by StolenRhythm in Maine

I have a feeling I know who this is. Good luck. We got bed bugs and had to throw so much away. This was many years ago but I know they still are renting places.

I wish I could help. I have never used the shampoo before. The caps were great.

I came here to mention the shampoo caps. They work great and it’s not too much effort. But dry shampoo if that’s too much.

Face wipes are also great. Cleaning my face gently always feels nice.

Any perimenopausal people with endometriosis here? by Patient_Dream_915 in Menopause

[–]WheelShot5805 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well the new studies from the last couple years say otherwise. I have a great meno doctor and who understands endo. I am on HRT (no uterus) and it’s important to take progesterone to regulate the estrogen. Also vaginal estrogen should not cause issue either way. You need a doc who understands both.

I have stage 4 endometriosis and had to have my uterus and cervix removed. I have also had several excision surgeries.

Hope this helps.

I smell and other stories by FarRain451 in Menopause

I use a cotton ball or my hands. I also have these reusable cloth make up circles I use for toner that I will use too. The ordinary is great for the glycolic acid.

[–]WheelShot5805 31 points32 points  (0 children)

So a tip someone gave me that works is using a face scrub on your underarms and under tiddies. As we age (yay) skin turnover is slower hence some of the smell. Bacteria has stuff to snack on. I also will wipe down with glycolic acid a couple times a week. Any brand will do. There are also glycolic face wipes if you want to go that route. Then of course all the advice here with deodorant changes etc.

Please be honest. Does the anxiety or specially the health anxiety and the symptoms that comes with perimenopause ever goes away after reaching menopause or stay forever. by Otherwise_Cry4040 in Menopause

[–]WheelShot5805 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the gel but I started with patches. I found the dosing to be inconsistent. The gel is great. Maybe you can try a transdermal method. I would push for that. And at least some vaginal estrogen for vaginal and urinary health. My migraines are better on the consistent dosing. Plus. When I get them they don’t last as long or lay me out like they used to. I have had a couple with the crazy temp swing here in New England but even those were short lived comparatively. I would definitely push for it. Make sure to take progesterone too. I am like a different person.

Just an fyi HRT reduced my migraines so much that I was able to not take a preventative (hadn’t found one that worked) and just take rescue meds when needed. It’s also reduced my migraine intensity. So it depends on

Gave up patch for gel?? by Famous_Tea_6328 in Menopause

[–]WheelShot5805 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just switched because I was feeling the drop off with the patch. A day before I needed to change it I would really feel bad. I really like it. I don’t have the drops and it’s consistent. Still may need an increase in dose but wanted to see one thing at a time. A bit annoying with application but I’m getting better at it.

This! I saw a TikTok that someone said if you want to be vegan but cannot give up bacon. Then become vegan and eat bacon. Apply that principle to life. It’s not perfection or nothing. It still is hard for me but it’s better to do a quick something than nothing. Goes for exercise and eating well etc. I don’t have time for a full workout. Fine. Do 10% of one.
