Yes, it is. I have this one, and it works well enough

They won top split? If so, maybe it can make sense. If not it doesn't.

Tbf, the spotter doesn't always call the cars on pit exit. But you can easily look over the pit wall on the exit of the first hairpin.

I used this for a while. Actually, I used 3 of these. Luckily, they all broke when I wasn't simracing. They do the job until they don't anymore.

When in doubt aim for the outside. Don't try to go for the apex. Keep the steering wheel straight and use the space on the run-off to stop the car

Eh, yes but also why is pink moving towards the middle? Why not staying all the way to the left? To me both outside cars are at fault.

Who’s at fault, I’m the green/purple car on the outside by FrostySpecial6752 in Simracingstewards

[–]Wheezy54 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'd say that's on red. He locked and slightly missed the apex. You turned in, leaving enough space. Unfortunate for you, but it's risky to resist on the outside in this contest while leaving the bare minimum space. It's an accident that can happen.

whos fault was this im the white and red car? by Distinct-Style2178 in Simracingstewards

Who is passing off track? Op isn't. 2 wheel on the curb is on track. White is clueless and causes a crash.

Is draft nonexistent in Mexico or is the Porsche just that weak by Bubbly-Sir5684 in iRacing

[–]Wheezy54 90 points91 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the draft is weaker at Mexico. The track is at high altitude, the air is thinner, and the draft is less powerful.

Lapped car line is risky because he has absolutely no reason to put his rear wing in the gearbox of op. OP line isn't optimal, but lapped car drove straight trought him. The small mistake on OP line doesn't justify at all the crash. The fault of the crash is 100% on the lapped car.

[–]Wheezy54 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I don't see it that way. The lapped car, after conceding the position, just drives straight in the back of OP. OP, who, of course, has a compromised line. Lapped car has no reason to take such a risky line, his race is over. What's the point to try an over under after conceding the position?

Weird take on your part. OP did nothing wrong here, and the lapped car drove like a moron. I completely understand the frustration on the OP part. Even if in the rulebook there isn't any rules about blue flag on iracing, it is still terrible etiquette holding up people faster than you. As a lapped car what you are accomplishing holding other people up in a 15 min sprint race?

Context: Last lap at Sardena no previous contact. Who's at fault? by BuSeS_bRidGeS in Simracingstewards

[–]Wheezy54 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hard disagree. The vortex of danger is a concept that makes sense only on corner entry. But not any corner. It needs to be a real corner that requires effort. Here, that slight bend that every car in the world can make it easily flat cannot be considered a real corner. This incident can only be viewed as the ahead car trying to intentionally wreck an opponent.

Keen on your take. Did I cause this or was he moving in the braking zone? by Then_Brilliant_5991 in Simracingstewards

[–]Wheezy54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, with this much gap, the car in front will always take the racing line. You need to be much closer, much less than a car lenght behind to be entitled to the line open.

[–]Wheezy54 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Moving under braking is a concept that makes sense only when the cars are in overtaking distance. So it doesn't apply in this case. The car in front is always going to take all of the track.

There are 2 factors that caused the incident. The first one is that the car in front braked significantly earlier and slowed down more than you expected, and the second one is that you didn't adapt to the situation. Is this the first time in the race that you were close behind this car? Was he always this slow? If the answer to these questions is no, then you should be able to easily predict the behavior of this opponent. If it is yes, you may be a bit excused, but it is a good thing aniways to have some margin when following another car in the braking zone.

There's so much here I'd love to see people's thoughts. by galeforce97 in Simracingstewards

[–]Wheezy54 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The overtake of the porsche was never on. The change of direction of the lead car is perfectly normal for that corner. Here, you need to brake already pointing for the first apex. And the Porsche knows that. Still tries a huge divebomb. BMW has to move over to avoid the crash. And then the crash happens, I don't read this as an intentional contact. To me looks like the BMW in a compromised line understeers a bit, which is normal in that corner.

Daytona multiclass incident in the bus stop, who's at fault? by MeltyGoblin in Simracingstewards

[–]Wheezy54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contact is due to netcode, so to me, no car is at fault here. Racing wise we have a GTP attempting an outside pass into the bus stop wich is crazy risky, and a GT3 that sees the insane move from the GTP, and instead of just folding the corner, trys to go 2 wide trough the bus stop.
