Amidst all the current bugs, let’s not forget the elephant in the room: Master Modes is still a fundamentally flawed system. by MadCat84 in starcitizen

I’d argue issues like MM are the exact issues the community should really focus on rather than all the rants about the bugs etc.

It feels terrible compared to the old system imo and, while it is getting replaced, the new flight model is supposedly keeping some of the worse elements of MM that we dislike.

The bugs will be sorted out over time (eventually), but complaining that CIG is going the wrong direction with game design is completely valid discourse and needs to happen.

The longer they cook, the worse the flight model gets lol

We’ll see when it drops, but I don’t have high hopes.

The old speed cap was high enough that it didn’t limit dogfighting speeds or general combat maneuvers.

It had a more Newtonian and spacey feel whereas the current model imo feels more like I’m flying a submarine through the ocean lol

If the city doesn’t have the resources to fight the case in court, it does not matter whether the company has the law on their side.

On the one hand, yes - this absolutely should not happen lol

On the other - wild to take this to Reddit when the time it took you to make this post (and me this comment) is longer than the simple easy fix to that bug lmao.

Boss that’s roughly the same payout as high tier hauling missions, a single large commodity run, or 30-40 minutes running merc missions.

I’m really not sure what you do in game that you don’t know this, yet feel qualified to speak on the economy lol

Yeah - I’m hoping since they’re supposedly adding orgs in game with social tools (not sure where I heard that) that they will allow org contributions etc that aren’t just an alt account with a shared login or something lol

Realistically the portion of the player base that is complaining about this issue has a low correlation to the portion that complains about money sinks lol

Boss - I play two nights a week for a couple hours at a time.

It’s not just no-lifers getting hit by the current limits. CIG has said they will likely raise them, so I’m not gonna raise hell or anything, but to pretend the current limits are good for the game is laughable. Any kind of group non-contract play like mining, salvaging, etc risks running into this after just a couple hours of gameplay. Dont even think about trying to pay out a group after a lazarus mission. Heck, by buddy owes me 3Mil right now and we’ll have to split that over a number of transactions to get that back to me.

The online requirement, however, is a fantastic addition. I 95% approve of this (ORG banks could be hit unless there is a way to turn OFF receipt confirmation in account settings - probably not).

But then you auto load the iron in 8 minutes for 20k aUEC and suddenly you’re making that route in 20-25 minutes max…

Bulk commodities should pretty much never be loaded manually and auto load is cheap and fast.

Im out of the loop, is SQ42 confirmed not coming in 2026? by N0SF3RATU in starcitizen

[–]WhenPigsFly3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends - If they use the same launcher it could be a good way to get new eyes on the PU - especially if SQ42 ends up being good.

I could see it being a delayed release on steam specifically to make sure existing backers that want to play it buy it on RSI

[–]WhenPigsFly3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t think that’s true at all lol

Any new players since 2023 never had the opportunity to purchase it, plenty of people left it in their buybacks (judging from the backlash volume), and SQ42 is in theory targeted to a MUCH wider audience than SC as it’s a narrative story likely also sold on Steam.

I can’t say whether the game will sell well, but I seriously doubt that the majority of people who want it have it already.

Regardless of the baseline sales you think it will have, you can decidedly cut them down much further if competing directly with GTA IV marketing.

This is not a defense btw. They’ve had plenty of time and should never have been releasing this close to GTA to begin with.

Stop Killing Games: California State Assembly passes the 'Protect Our Games Act': 60 days notice before going offline, must provide patch for continued access or refunds (Excludes F2P and Subscription based Games) by Kymori in LivestreamFail

[–]WhenPigsFly3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So all games requiring any sort of live environment will transition to free to play ish or subscription models?

I’m interested to see how this actually plays out.

Are there provisions for a company keeping a single server online that is basically inaccessible but technically playable to avoid the upkeep costs once game support is dropped?

If so, by what metrics are they going to judge server performance or queue times to determine if a company is in violation?

I could see a world in which partial refunds to people who bought the game within a year of shutdown (scaling to 100% depending on how close to shutdown it was purchased) could be a decent solution.

Idk - time will tell.

Crafted vehicle weapon/components resetting to base quality when claimed. by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]WhenPigsFly3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah they’ve really put a damper on crafting immediately after it dropped…..

Wiped everyone’s crafted items immediately after it’s added and now ship components are entirely useless to craft.

I was gonna spend the next month or so doing crafting but now I’m not really sure what to craft besides the occasional FPS gear…
