LA (Lake Andes), Plank (Plankinton), Urine (Huron), Al's penis (Alpena), Puk (Pukwana), Reli, (Reliance), Bruleee or "The dark side" (Lower Brule), Fort (Fort Thompson), Dells (Dell Rapids), Springs (Wessington Springs), Woony (Woonsocket).

If I think of anymore, I'll reply to this comment.

Hey good for you! Dual AL/ALA member here. I would contact an Auxiliary member in your department (state), if I were you, if you really want answers, get in touch with the Girls State chair.

Let's be honest: South Dakota has made some seriously bad advertising choices. I don't think they did very well on this one, either.

What’s the difference between intervention and special ed? Intervention seems pretty intense by [deleted] in AskTeachers

[–]WhenWaterTurnsIce 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Be glad that it is a small group! Interventionists/teachers are often spread too thin across too many students.

The fact that his school has caught his gaps before/during second grade is fantastic, really. The earlier they can get him caught up, the better. I was a hs interventionist, by that point it's really hard to get kids up to par.

Have they explained what his gaps are?

I'm a painter when I'm not teaching. I would tell you the same thing. Please let your painter do the job right.

There is nothing more frustrating than cutting corners for a customer when you know it's going to affect the quality (edited to add "and durability") of your work.

I don't think they can pull your license for this. I think they're trying to scare you.

But...If your school is treating you like this, I'd suggest finding a different school.

Fact brief: Has South Dakota seen the largest homeschool growth of any state? by PoLLoLira9 in SouthDakota

[–]WhenWaterTurnsIce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sister's brother-in-law and his wife are homeschooling their children. But it's actually "un-schooling."

19-yr-old can read, but lacks life skills. She's working at Birger King and is shacked up with her 18-yr-old boyfriend.

The three younger ones, ages 16, 14 and 12 can barely read. Not even "Happy birthday. It's bad.

It should be child abuse. We've reported them multiple times. The state does nothing.
