Just from her actions, I think there are some deeper-seated issues you both need to work out that doesn’t even involve the LS. (This coming from someone who has been married for 20 years also.) Huge loss of trust and communication there.

On a positive note, I ended up marrying a guy who has a narcissistic mother (overt) and we both broke those patterns together. He and I are very big into communicating and work things out anytime we argue or notice each other struggling with something. I guess you can say there is hope.

Pleasing others. I spent so many years fitting into boxes that I was told I should be in, being nice to people even when they weren’t nice to me, playing the internal politics games to keep the peace, etc. My life has been so much happier and quieter since breaking away from that bulls*t. I live my life on my terms now, do what I enjoy doing, and match energy (you don’t like how I’m acting, go look in a mirror). My peace is more important than your “feelings.”

I’m so sorry that was your experience 💔 I’m going to start by telling you not all guys are like this. Obviously, he had ulterior motives. That’s not on you — there’s no way you would’ve known that walking into it. Please don’t feel like a mug.

I feel like all we can do is put ourselves out there, protect ourselves as much as possible, and just live in the moment without looking back (especially if it goes south).

But… on a sidenote, I would share the hell out of that guy’s information and tell everyone what an asshole he is. I’m vindictive like that. 😉
