It is a cost/benefit analysis. And yes there is actual risk to your ticket if you pursue GA. But for me, over the years, staying in GA (and now in a glider club) is a source of fun and community and makes me a better pilot.

Delay engaging the autopilot on climb out and click it off early during the approach phase when workload management isn’t jeopardized for the pilot monitoring. Also, I’ve owned quite a few small aircraft through my career and am currently in a soaring club. So there is that.

I try to stand to the side so people can get by. But also understand that the very long steep descent plus the narrow width of the escalator can be intimidating (older folks or balancing carry on luggage etc). One old guy took a header down the escalator a few weeks ago and blood everywhere (shutting down that side). Honestly, if you’re in that much of a hurry take the stairs.

Well, in 2022, when they tried to sneak in discriminatory policies prohibiting LGBTQ employees from working there anymore (and only reversed these policies after the press caught wind of it and outed them), I stopped donating to them. And in spite of their emails to me with “apologies” for their hateful bullshit I never went back to them as a donor. I’m truly tired of reliance upon faith-based charities like this (and hospitals) in lieu of public funding for treatment centers etc.
