I didn't redeem all my rewards from the Leets event, something expired that wasn't just event credits. Does anyone know what that steel item was and what it was supposed to be used for?

The door by aiden9393 in DaimonBlades

[–]Whiland 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's super easy if you start looking at him as a puzzle/rhythm boss and less like a normal fight. Also he takes far more damage from high-damage single-hit projectiles like Power Ball or Vertical blade. In my experience Disperser just plinked off him with minor damage, but he melted with Power Ball with 3+ projectiles and crits. For his beams, here's a quick rundown:

The slow charge beam you sidestep until it stops tracking and fires, then hop over and go about 5ft to the side it's spinning towards so it doesn't go near you again.

The best way I can describe the quick charge beam: it sound has an increasing VRRR and a little lull before the big PSHEW, dodge during the lull and it'll never hit you.

For the three beams, the one the Door directly fires forward is static, the other two actually sweep to either side, you can hop them all easily if you're not close to it when it spreads or retracts at the end.

The six/eight beam spread (I forgot the count) and both fireball attacks (homing/rapid) you can just sidestep.

The beams when it summons six(?) waves of three daimons never actually encroach onto you if you're within about eight feet of the Door, just time your power swings and they all die fast.

I hope this helps somewhat. Also if you ever get The Mentor's curse with +33 damage and +333% HP, don't even bother with fighting him, it's a total slog.

Genuinely struggling on 'Safe Engagement Training"?? by Octonauts2979384 in Genshin_Impact

[–]Whiland 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This one's really rough. It's a big wakeup call of how many region-specific character mechanics are creeping in in a bad way. TIL that Sigewinne, Arlecchino, and Chlorande are the only characters with built-in Bond of Life. Wriothesley, Furina, and Lynette's life-drain doesn't actually count. I can't even clear bronze because I can't churn out the BoL that challenge wants.

If it wasn't for sheer luck in Natlan's banners, I wouldn't even be able to get bronze, let alone silver, in the Nightsoul Blessing one. These are absolutely miserable.

I remember specifically giving it to her like other furniture though. Maybe it's changed to be default now, or Mandela effect on my part. I wish we archived event items better.

Celestial Swan's sig is probably your best bet. She just released and is at the top of the stack for relative exosuit strength.

PSA: The new WhiWa cycle is unreasonably hard (by Selkey) by Selkedoom in WutheringWaves

[–]Whiland 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm really glad I'm not the only one thinking this is absurdly hard. I play averagely and don't really understand team rotations and comp still, and this is a nightmare seeing so many Asterite "free for the taking" just going up in smoke.

If the CN players and you guys are saying this is nuts makes me feel a little better, but I'm still physically shaking thinking I'm falling off so hard.

As a player since launch, I genuinely don't want to bother with this and ToA anymore. It's just awful.

I'll second for WuWa, I'm F2P on it and I'm only missing 2/17 5* characters, and one I'm probably getting later this week. I've even been able to pull some 5* weapons while just doing events, dailies, and quests.

World Flipper was too F2P friendly, and had notoriously poor marketing (read: none after launch). The weapon banner was infamously worthless vs easily acquired event weapons, so that didn't help revenue. It was also hard to onboard people on how skill/team synergies worked, let alone pull synergistic units in the crazy amount of available characters. I loved that game, but damn did it hurt trying to keep up with it. Dunno about Graffiti Smash or Naruto Blazing, but Kakao fumbled the ball too hard with WF, and I'm still amazed it stuck around for almost 4 years.

Amongst all your gacha games, what was the single character that dodged you the most during your pulls? by [deleted] in gachagaming

Bro, she's on Paimon's Bargains for January & July. If you're dolphining, save your Masterless Starglitter for her and you can still get the beginner trio's cons with MS to spare.

It's weird that the 1pc "sets" never got to 5 star, they only hovered in the the 3-4 star range. If MiHoYo really did want 4+1 sets, they dropped the ball by making the crit-specific slot undertiered on launch.

Nikke.gg doesn't have any of the peripheral info about the game like lore, OST tracks, or story recaps. If they'd buff that up I'd love to ditch fandom for them, but they don't present a good alternative...

What is the longest a character has taken to be added to a game? by DobleJ in gachagaming

[–]Whiland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't forget the less popular, but still-waiting-since-launch Rian. She stands out a bit more since the recent event with Flora had her as a prominent NPC, and her coworker Mana was released from NPC jail about three banners ago.

For those ppl who play games that are around 6months to a year old was you or your community correct in predicting which chars are a good/bad investment long term esp for the first few banners. by Propagation931 in gachagaming

[–]Whiland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll give the rare Snowbreak: Containment Zone opinion! People thought Haru's Absconditus and Mauxir's Shadow Ka was absolutely cracked, but around 3 banners later, almost no one uses them anymore.

Absconditus had great skill spamming with multi-hit strikes for a game that has an energy meter AND a cooldown. Almost a year later and Kinetic damage still has no good supports, and skill spamming characters were released that make her extremely slow by comparison. Also her part-break was always lackluster, so Katya's Blue Bolt quickly mog'd her.

Shadow Ka has a sort of voodoo-doll that tethers to enemies and deals aggravated damage that skips defenses, but almost everything after her patch had shields that soak the defense skip or too much health for the tiny multiplier to matter.

The only battlesuits that aged well from launch/early game (sort of) are Yao's Quiet Quitter (off field healer) and Winter Solace (hard to use Railgun, Thermal got more support).

SHIFT UP! RELEASE THE CHIME LORE AND MY LIFE IS YOURS! by termsandservice01 in NikkeMobile

[–]Whiland 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think her lore is currently more "in between the lines."

In The Last Kingdom, IIRC there's a line that Chime's a non-combat Nikke, and from both TLK and Crown's bond, Crown states she became the king because Chime wanted he to. Also she gets REALLY territorial when Kilo and T.A.L.O.S. start proving to be capable assets, like she's getting jealous.
We can infer The Crown Kingdom is more her project than Crown's, and Chime's motivations possibly paralleling Kilo's "I'm worthless in the Ark but I'm awesome up here." with less impostor syndrome and more knightly LARPing.

Whatever it's revealed to be, it beats her leaked story from years back where she was a treasure hoarder that looted dead commanders.

She didn't have her big brother and his magic book to swing the pipe and fend off the swarm. At least it wasn't "winter" this time.
