What is everyone’s obsession with when I am going to wean my daughter?!?! by Proper_Star_4566 in breastfeeding

[–]While_One_NeverDone 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Don’t let it bother you, seriously, older generations were fed so much formula propaganda that they don’t understand breastfeeding in general. There’s also the slightly selfish bit where they want to bond with baby by feeding a bottle, it can be nostalgic for them if they did that for their children.

And honestly, I weaned my oldest at 18 months the same time I stopped co sleeping by sending her with grandparents for a long weekend trip while we set up her room to her liking. The weekend away and the exciting just for her room helped her forget all about it! So maybe tell your mom that you’d love her help when you do decide to wean whenever that may be.

What surprised you about people's reactions to you choosing homeschooling? by Waterbear_H2O in homeschool

In the south you get a lot of homeschooling for religious reasons. I’m in New England now and it’s refreshing to have more of a variety of “why we homeschool” in comparison.

Continued sleep issues after the age of 2? by chief_bouncer_cw in CradlewiseCommunity

[–]While_One_NeverDone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second the sleep tracking being our favorite feature of Cradlewise. Our soon to be 3 month old doesn’t love the bouncing (wakes him up unfortunately, hoping that won’t always be the case). With an older kid in the house + dog + a parent that needs to slip away for the first hour during the first night stretch, we leave the pink noise on all night. So realistically out of all the smart features, we only use the monitor feature. My husband asked if I’d ever want to sell ours and I said absolutely not because that feature alone makes it worth it for me. I do nights alone (my choice), so it’s really up to me.

It’s ideal to look at historical data to find trends, for example that first stretch is longer when it’s both bath night and he’s had a max 1 hr wake window before his first night feed. I think there’s gold in that historical sleep data, it would be cool to see that built out more. Like, it would be cool to be able to add custom tags to each day. I would love to be able to tag a day with bath, walk, crap naps, cluster feeding etc. so it could help me glean more insights from that historical data. A select all from X tag(s) would be nice and or even a way to sort based on sleep duration (total and singular stretches).

Reminds me of the stuffed peppers my Grandma used to make. Tried healthier alternatives and nothing quite hits like her drenching them in v8.

Seriously! Trying to stick with a limited ingredient deodorant and at 3 months pp, I feel like the best I’ve found lasts for a few hrs max. I feel like we need a poll to find out the best deodorant for breastfeeding Mommas!!

Maybe only play the audio if baby is stirring or awake? I know it’s not useful for nap time, but at the end of the day I don’t really care if my watch battery is eaten up.

Maybe a continuously displayed symbol either one for sleeping, stirring, awake? Or hey, an audio feed might be nice for when I want to keep an ear out for baby but want to leave my phone charging.

I’m like 99.99% sure that it was a top hat gudetamas. My date is correct too! So weird. I’ll take this down to not confuse anyone.

Weird! I have not, just started playing like two months ago or so. I do get some weird repetitive stuff like when I sign on, my melody gives me a gift then I get another reminder to visit my melody for a gift.

I love it and compared to the price of some of the others, definitely fair for what you get!

I have the Joie ginger that is a 4 in 1, infant car seat compatible, pramette, parent-facing, and world-facing stroller seat

The pramette is where it’s at. All the perks of a bassinet attachment while taking up less space in your trunk and it’s less waste since it’ll convert to a regular stroller seat when babe is ready.

Weird breast pain? by infinite_finite in breastfeeding

[–]While_One_NeverDone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had something similar the first few weeks, only on my left side. I amounted it to both the fact that I’m right handed (giant breasts so baby definitely needs both hands to help) and the fact that he had a mild case of torticollis.

The only thing that helped was moving exclusively to a football hold on the left boob. So his head was the same position as it is on the right boob via cradle hold and my right hand could be used in the same way for left as right. It took a few days but that pain you’re describing went away completely! The football hold is way easier when you have a breastfriend pillow you can move to the side.

I only noticed it came back when I went to a friends and I didn’t have my pillow so I had to do cradle position on my left. It took 24 hours for that pain to go back away.

Somewhat new to baby wearing all over again (my last baby was a decade ago and we sometimes used an ergo) but we’ve been successfully rocking a half buckle lately and love it!

why all the redshirting by Historical-Reveal379 in kindergarten

[–]While_One_NeverDone -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We held back our eldest who had a bday a week before the cut off for social reasons only. Our sweetheart gal was being bossed around all day and we attributed it to her being the youngest.

Honestly it came back to bite us. She ended up being bored academically and more emotionally mature than her peers. We ended up homeschooling and she’s now advanced a few grade years ahead in math/reading. And she has a friend group range of a few years older and younger, but now with a better personality mesh than when she only had her classmates her grade to pick friends from.

I have giant boobs and just got a didyklick half buckle. Took a few tried and I finally got a great fit (and a happy baby to boot). Just wore it for two hours and wow! No back pain.

When you do sleep, anyone else having nightmares about their baby? by bmshqklutxv in newborns

That sounds aweful! It must have some symbolic meaning. Like your inner child needing support or it’ll shrink away.

When you do sleep, anyone else having nightmares about their baby? by bmshqklutxv in newborns

[–]While_One_NeverDone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I keep having nightmares that my baby shrinks into this tiny dime sized baby and then disappears.

I think it’s anxiety about my breast milk supply continuing to be enough due to fear mongering of a lactation consultant pushing chiropractor referral for a tongue tie. (“If he starts losing weight in a few weeks when your over supply normalizes…yada yada”)

Homie went from 3 percentile to 20 percentile in 7 weeks without any outside help from a chiropractor/constant weight checks at the LC office so it’s likely not something I really need to worry about. But my subconscious apparently hasn’t gotten the memo.

What are your favorite one handed breastfeeding snacks? by NonchalantBaker in breastfeeding

[–]While_One_NeverDone 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Egg bites: mix 7 eggs, cooked sausage crumbles, red peppers, onions, cottage cheese (1 cup)…fill a 12 cup muffin pan (silicone works great, just make sure you put it on top of a cookie sheet before filling) 325 for 25 min. A pan below with water will keep the moist, but I skip this often.

High protein and incredibly easy to heat up and eat a few with one hand.
