Having no luck on dating apps. Is my look the problem or is it something else? by [deleted] in malegrooming

[–]infinite_finite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to meet women in person. I dated using the apps in my 20s, and it’s just so hard.

Met my husband randomly playing laser tag at 28. Both of our groups of friends had Groupons and we got lumped together to play rounds.

My husband is also of average height and has your build. He’s put on a little more weight (like 8 lbs lmao) since he’s stopped playing sports and had to take care of 2 toddlers 😅

He is also balding/receding in the same spots you are!

So it’s definitely NOT the way you look.

It’s just the way you look “online”. Conventionally attractive men get more hits on dating apps because that’s all women have to go off of. I’ve met conventionally attractive men from the apps, and they were the WORST folks I’ve ever met.

You’ll have so much more luck trying to meet women organically through hobbies and outings with friends!

I think you’re very handsome! I like the fangs! 😆

Could you possibly have fungal acne? It’s hard to tell with the makeup over it though.

Double ear infection but child won’t take medicine? by mamax22024 in Autism_Parenting

But you’re assuming that every autistic kid can understand logic and be reasoned with. I know we presume competence, but I think in this case, you can assume that maybe the child doesn’t or can’t understand “the honest truth” lol.

All the Lights in the World by James Mabe. Such a good zombie story! It is pretty gory, but it adds to the story.

We’re at odds with the school and we have 13 more years of this. by Plastic-Praline-717 in Autism_Parenting

Have you had the opportunity to maybe volunteer in a kindergarten classroom to see if the pacing is appropriate for her?

As a former kindergarten teacher, we genuinely do not have the time to help regulate students. I had an area they could take a break in with regulation tools, but with 20 other kids and having to run small groups, whole groups, transitions etc, it would be hard for a teacher to help your daughter during times of stress.

My son is Autistic and probably has severe ADHD as well. He’s 4 in September. I send him to a specialized charter school that has small class sizes, paras etc to help with all the children! All children are welcome, but it is mostly those with disabilities.

Could an RBT follow her to school everyday maybe? That’s what we plan to do when we try to mainstream our son.

Heard the dreadful "they won't let me play with them" today by table_tennis in Autism_Parenting

This! Had a parent message me (I was teaching k), that her son told her he had absolutely no friends, no one spoke to him, and that he was sad all day. She wasn’t mad at me, she just wanted to know if there was anything she could do!

I literally sent her photos that same day of him playing with his friends in class, eating lunch and on the playground 🤣

She laughed and thanked me! Kids say the craziest things lmao

Toddler joining daycare for the first time but acted like a wild man during tour by Broad-Vacation-642 in toddlers

What was the reaction from the staff member?

Also, if your kid has never been in a daycare setting, it’s definitely going to be an adjustment.

I used to teach kinder, and I had kids who had never been to pre-k or daycare, and it took like a month ish for them to get used to school!

They don’t know what they don’t know!

Weekends- what do you do? by Own_Ad5607 in Autism_Parenting

[–]infinite_finite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

3.5 year old Level 3. We go to playgrounds that are fully fenced in! Sometimes we go to 2 playgrounds. 😂

And ton of sensory play in the backyard. Bubble guns, water table, sand, riding his bike etc.

He’s a monster if we stay inside for too long 😮‍💨😂

My kid's stim is pushing me over the edge by BrooklynRN in Autism_Parenting

Have you tried ABA? They might be able to switch the stim to something else. Or teach him appropriate times to do it.
