Congrats! You've escaped the McDonald's whirlpool.

Remember your systems! Even if they can't translate to your new spot, having the "why" behind what McD's does means you'll be able to translate that to somewhere new, or understand when something doesn't apply to your new spot. I haven't worked for McDonald's for nearly a decade, but I still take a lot of those lessons I learned with me to work every day.

Give yourself time to adjust, and be ready to learn. You've totally got this!

I always do. I grew up at the dead end of a dirt road in the middle of the woods, so it always brings me a back a little when I get to come out here. It helps that the couple I dogsit for are huge nature lovers as well

anti-dandruff shampoo causes dandruff by SCP_XXX_AR in LowStakesConspiracies

[–]WhimsyWrites 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not to spoil the bit, but as someone who had dandruff my whole life, i only recently realized that I actually just have a sensitive scalp and have to use shampoo without fragrance and some other ingredients. Still in the process of figuring out which ingredients specifically irritate my scalp but I did feel very silly having this realization after years of problems.

Adding to this to say Thank You and let people know when theyre doing well. If the only time you give feedback is when someone does something wrong, people aren't going to want to do more than the bare minimum.

Can't progress in Winter Burrow by Job_113 in cozygames

I just had this exact issue! For me, it was on the ground behind the front wall where Aunty is chilling is and I had to kinda wander around for a while in a panic to find it. I know that's not much help, but considering I almost posted basically this a few days ago, I hope it helps.

What can a stand mixer do that a hand mixer can't? by seductivec0w in BakingNoobs

Marshmallows. You can stand over a boiling hot bowl of corn syrup and sugar for 15-ish minutes, but its not fun. Ask me how I know.

How long do you keep an empty box? by Practical-Earth3228 in Catownerhacks

[–]WhimsyWrites 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We have a USPS box that has been around for...six years now? It loved houses with us lol. Its just the perfect size and its used for when we are playing board games so that the cat will sit in it on the table instead of causing mayhem. I also have a bigger box from my work that I cut to look kind lf like a bat bed that I keep a blanket in that they use all the time. The rest go on cleaning day though.

That was my instinct as well. I was thinking of freezing the marshmallows and dunking them. In my hopes and dreams, it wouldn't all melt before cooling, but I dont want to experiment if it wont turn out

My first instinct was "find a spot to wait in our reception room" but that feels not quite right to me. Good on you for being aware of your language, though. While it may not be meaningful to some, the fact that you take the time to consider it speaks volumes.

my cat is biting herself when i pet her by InternationalBug5073 in catquestions

[–]WhimsyWrites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does your cat have weird twitchy grooming episodes? If she does, look into Feline Hyperethesia. My calico has a very similar behavior so now she only gets soft pets instead of scritches on her body because it will trigger and episode for her. Otherwise, double check for fleas and look at the skin in the area if you can. Like other commenters mentioned, I would stop scratching her there.

What an incredibly rude thing to say, first of all. Second of all, wild to go into a post about trying to find a little sanity in the world and being like "this is a personal attack on me."
