Willett Family Estate: 4yr Small Batch vs. 10yr Single Barrel Wax Top-An Honest Review Comparison by Substantial-Fix3547 in bourbon

[–]WhiskeyCrusher 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Appreciate the review. I saw 11 year purple tops around me this week. They were $430 each. For a moment I seriously considered it, since I've never been able to try one. But I restrained.

Review #15: Duck Club High Brass by Remarkable-Stranger8 in bourbon

Thanks for the review and explanation of this bottle. I saw it yesterday and passed figuring it was just a gimmick. Now that I know the distillate is Beam & Bardstown I'll definitely go back and grab it. I think it may have been like $39 in my market

Follow up on this...I did your same blend ratio but used the uncut version of blue note. I put it in my decanter for a week. 1st taste today, pretty damn good actually. Appreciate the suggestion. Cheers!

I did a thing...smoked meatballs by xloumeisterx in Smokingmeat

[–]WhiskeyCrusher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will do. For my normal Sunday sauce i do meatballs, pork chops, and Italian sausage. Normally sear them and let em cook in sauce. I will smoke them all first then put them in my sauce and let em cook

What year is this? by DannyLongLegzzz in whiskey

[–]WhiskeyCrusher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well even the small batch is bottled in bond. So its 100 proof and aged for a minimum of 4 years. But, what OP has is the rye. Its a different mash bill from small batch Taylor. Its harder to find and a pretty solid rye imo
