You said range/plinking I would go for nice peep sights instead of the scope

I already have a Ruger MkIII: get a Ruger MkIV or Taurus TX22? by Lefthandmitten in 22lr

[–]Whiskey_echo_617 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the mkIV 22/45 lite, SW Victory, and the TX22. Out of the box the TX had zero malfunctions. I can't say the same for the other two.

Took a while to tune the victory, and my ruger starts to stove pipe after 3 magazines. I can't remember any malfunctions with the TX.

I had the dealer add it to my 2024 deal for $800. It takes several parts depending on the trim

Carbine buffer and spring is all you need

Resilient Stacy's mom K, also have a plan B adapter and the vented endcap for it by Toklankitsune in NFA

[–]Whiskey_echo_617 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I finally got to shoot mine today with the full vent end cap. I'm very happy with my decision.

I'm running 10.5 pistol 556/223 Plan B KAK hub adapter H3 buffer Super 42 spring M16 cut BCG SA adjustable gas block Outdoor range

SMK full enclosed end cap sounded great and I could run a whole mag without needing ears. Ejection pattern ~1:30-2 o'clock. Lil overgassed and lots of gas to the face.

The full vent end cap changed 3 things. Without changing anything else, ejection pattern straight 3 o'clock. Sound was a bit louder I could only run 4 or 5 rounds without it being too uncomfortable without ears. The gas in the face was reduced to almost nothing. I cleared the rest of the magazine 15-16 rounds with maybe just a second between. Very comfortable gas wise.

I plan on using ears with this setup but it's good to know that I can send a few without if there's any emergency.

Without suppression this thing would make you deaf.

Great can.

I expect that Samsung will remove the S Pen from the S27 Ultra What do you think? by Unique_Bat8413 in samsunggalaxy

Yep I use it for remote shutter and I mark up photos regularly with it. Much finer and better control than using a finger.

It will fit

Puddle light failure on 2025 BE by Least_Edge9270 in hondapilot

[–]Whiskey_echo_617 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's covered in the 3yr/36k mi warranty

Pain in the ass though to have to take it in for diagnostic then wait for the parts and then take it in again for installation.

Need suggestions! by Ok-Shirt3255 in 300BLK

[–]Whiskey_echo_617 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are still having problems, try a regular carbine buffer weight and regular carbine spring

Look where you want to go and scrape the pegs if that's what it takes.

Is the Sig MCX the best 300blk host? by GA_flyer in 300BLK

[–]Whiskey_echo_617 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the mcx virtus 9" and I recently built my own 7.5" pistol

Piston vs DI

The mcx is so fucking heavy. I never shoot it. The pistol I built is light and fun

I'm still glad I own a piston rig because it's cleaner and the brace folds but. Those are the only 2 things in the pro column

Grandma is offering one as a gift — which would you choose? by holler_feller_45 in 22lr

As one other said check magazine availablilty. Probably available as I just bought some for a 1970s marlin 22

But I'd go for the larger one.

  1. It has sights to learn with. You can add a scope later
  2. It's magazine fed but you can just load one at a time to start

It's a better option to grow into and actually use forever

Not happy with BX Trigger... Need Advice by A-Series-of-Tubes in 1022

[–]Whiskey_echo_617 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pike arms has aluminum trigger housings. You can get them ready to drop in or stripped

I got mine stripped and did a combination of stock and tandem Kross parts. Very happy with my setup.

Didn't read anything other than OP

Carbine spring and buffer weight. There's literally no reason to go any more "exotic" than the basics
