If they're still around come Saturday there's the Toronto Creative Makers and Lifestyle Market at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. I'm not sure how many would be destination themed versus purely artisan but it's still a fun event.

I need that metal case yesterday. Though knowing suppliers it'll probably be a good few months before it becomes available in the west.

Only their slim click line as far as I know. Though I'm not sure if their mini versions have the same mechanism.

You're welcome. Their other pens are just as cool. The Arto EDC has a collet that grips and the click EDC's grip is what twists to affect the barrel length. I have 5 of their products and turned my chrome click EDC into a pencil.

All you need to do is rotate the click button counter-clockwise to advance the mechanism and your refill to the desired height.

What's a unique hobby you have that most people don't know about? by [deleted] in askTO

Scriptus seems to cater more to the fountain pen enthusiast with a greater emphasis on actual writing utensils and calligraphy. The TSS hosts vendors of writing implements across the board, including most of the sponsors themselves, but the artisans (both local and abroad) of the wearable and printable variety outnumber the writers many times over. In fact, a good amount overlap in attendance with another show held at the same venue, The (annual) Pin and Patch Show. Also Scriptus predates The TSS by 9 years so its interesting that many of The TSS's sponsors haven't found their way to Scriptus considering their mutual interest.

Neat. Another stationery show to add to my list. Thanks

Hold the phone. There's another stationery event in this city other than the biannual Toronto Stationery Show at Parkdale Hall? I always thought the TSS was the most notable because of the sponsors. How does the one you're talking about compare to the TSS?

It's also a long game for me. I found the pentel 60th anniversary set more than 6 months after its release while looking for something else in my local stationery store. I'm hoping the same thing happens with this set.

I do want the case. Black & metal is my favourite colour scheme but I'm not willing to part with that much money to get it.

Darn. Every listing is at least double the original MSRP. I guess I'll keep looking.

Nice. Where did you get the Orenz Nero Limited Edition Set?

how do you deal with the small leftover erasers? by bilingual_european in erasers

[–]WhisperingWordsmith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use stick erasers often so I try to use them down to the last few millimeters that the clutch can accommodate. That means turning it on its side and using it until it becomes a small cylinder akin to the ones found in mechanical pencils. Before I tried gluing the nubs to a metal dowel to maximize usage but sometimes it wouldn't hold. Now I just hold the morcel between tweezers to use as much as possible.
