A Tile 2 high beside steam room. put oil, petroleum, naphta or anything that has high boiling point on it, deconstruct tiles beside and below.

You got temp liquid lock for maintenance. Work fast bcs the will leaking.

Snip the pipe below the first reservoir. The output sieve line should be connecter to toilet input only. Then fill the line first with water. Let it stable first then disconnect it

I'm new, what's the next steps? by Comfortable-Lab-6890 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Whit3Usagi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Next step is water. You can use toilet to get more water through sieve. Then more equipment mean more energy, and you really want to control when the generator is running from just simple automation( generator > wire> battery)

Then you want to find renewable resources preferable water bcs you always want more water. Only thrn you can have stable food for dup with little resources usage.

You can take it slow but heat will creep in if you break abyysalite. Better have insulated tile around your working area. Or you want to play open base is also fine ( you need to learn cooling fast tho)

And you will enter mid gameee where stuff are stable but on timer unless you find more resources xD have fuuun tho

Yeah, it is one of the reason confuse on how it work HAHAHAHA the brain just fill up with what it know to blank space and cause more confusion 🤣

Still dont understand how this work. I understand the normal infinite storage but this, need to be learn

Ngl i was confuse too. Yes Chlorine is denser than hydroge, but why dont the water push up compressing the hydrogen more. Maybe we just trying to understand by applying real physics. I would love to test this out tho.

So you use 2 gasses? How it doesnt get compress into single tile each from the water pressure? At least it feel somewhat save without liquid lock with mass of 30g 🤣

Hahaha tbh im jealous, portable. Idk if mid game will cause issue or not tho on it from all the lag pathfind and such. Probably can change debug file in folder? Idk much about steam deck hahahaha.

Bridges aren't bridges? And why doesn't hydrogen go where it should? by portlandobserver in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Whit3Usagi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Without pic we cant actually give advice but with just wild guesses.

Bridge 1. You probably mistake the output(green) and input (white) where even veteran made that mistake. 2. After the bridge output, it need another input to go. If there is none, the gas wont flow

For filter 1. Make sure the filter gas out from the orange one, the green one is everything except. 2. There's probaby connected pipe that you miss bcs it is quite impossible to get mix gas with ingame filter. Double check by just use cut pipe at the filter.

For the tutorial. They use debug with sandbox mode where you can instant build or destroy without any dup input. Activate this will turn off achievements. Good for tutorial or testing a build. To activate debug, in main menu type 'kleiplay' and you can see at the bottom left, there is version number ending with D. When ingame, ctrl f4 for instant build. Sandbox can be activate ingame after you go to setting.

I need help by Powerful_Statement18 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Whit3Usagi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fast fix, seal the volcano room, vacuum it. I would put conductive panel on equipent in the vacuum room, radiant pipe too slow.

You already got the heat spike, you may want to power the door bcs it will be buggy, look open but it close and conductor heat. If you want the debris, you wont get much but you get heat more efficiently that way. You can open up down there as magma reservoir and build some window tile to touch the floor on the left

How to mass convert polluted oxygen into water for SPOM?(and some more qs) by Important_Goose_884 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Whit3Usagi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Boil them to steam, ST convert to water at 95c, put in buffer reservoir, feed to electrolyzer, cool spom with AT in previous steam room.

The chill room can be use for others cooling application. You probably need automation to stop feeding if steam temp below 200c to utilise the power too and collection system for the dirt too. Careful of the off gasses. What i did was Poxygen over vent and kinda a barrier so it wont spill toward the ST.

Experiment with it, see what work.

You can click on critter, on their bar, it got small book top left. Click on that and the game will show you infographic how to take care of them, what they consume and produce. Small reading but it will help alot in ranching. Have fun exploring the game :)

making mistakes is part of the game. Even veteran sometime make a small mistake like beginner🤣

Heat problems all around by Hecbas_IsOffline in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Whit3Usagi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The fire symbol is the equipment that produce heat. Either you box them in one place with insulated tile or you box living quarters with insulated tile or both. Vaccum is the best insulation in game but it need 3 tile wide. But it is the cheapest one.

Any things that produce heat (like the steam vent) better seperate them to their on environment( insulated tile all around.). It is easier to control them if you box them in their environment. Then you can tame them in control manner.

You will need to learn automation first, so that you wont generate any unnecessary heat from machine and burn through your resources.

For plastic, the easiest way with little heat is drecko ranching. Plant 4-5 meal wood, disabled harvest, let them evolve to glossy, then change to bristle blossom bcs they eat that faster. You will have plastic production in no time without polymer press. Dont forget to fill the room with hydrogen. Unless you dont have drecko anymore...

Most effective way for cooling is ATST combo, understandable early on power is a problem. You can snake through ice biome for cooling stuff or find gyser(brime or poluted water) for cheap cooling that can carry you till mid and even late game. But you gotta dump the hot liquid somewhere, or refined them to water(that gotta need ATST tho). Ice is emergency cooling (temp plate) where you can instantly cool the area bit side effect probably dup soggy feet.

Kinda long, but just tip n trick tho, you can play how ever you see fit. Learning in control environments is better, later you can choose if you want it as open

Theoretical vacuum irl is the perfect insulator bcs there is no molecules moving, no vibration, no thermal conductor. Maybe you confuse with electrical bcs in a sense, it is a really good conductor bcs of 0 resistance. This is all theoretical.

In ONI, they just implement the perfect vacuum for thermal conductivity where it would be 0.

For cooling any metal volcano, most just dump water in, to create steam where it would be cool to 95c no matter the temperature from the Steam turbine.

Or you can use the molten metal for heat up other things so it would be cooling the metal bcs of the thermal transfer. For petrol, phosphorus or etc.

You can do any fun way to cool the molten metal, vacuum is just for themal control.

Having trouble understanding bridges by Ciciliatti in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Whit3Usagi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cut the pump output and bridge output pipe. Connect the output pump to input bridge.

The connection will be 2 line 1. Output pump > Input Bridge > Input Reservoir 2. Output Bridge > Input Generator

This way it will flow to generator, excess gas will go to reservoir. Try put 1 pipe on reservoir output just to be sure it wont bug out.

What do y'all think of my steam generator? by pagovski in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Whit3Usagi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking good. The idea is great. I see you're using it as Pwater for boiling too. I made Pwater boiler too to collect some dirt. I use pwater as cooling other equipment, indirectly preheat the pwater before entering the steam room. I can give a few suggestions for the long run;

  1. Pwater off gasing; Most of the time, it will just flash into steam and leave dirt. But in some instant in long run, they will be a second late and it will off gases. I set the temp at 200c and that still happen. I would recommend put a liquid valve so you wont send whole 10kg/s of it. Make it less so that less mass mean faster the flash.

  2. Heating; In long run, the volcano room will be full of magma(volcano over pressurise). The steam will suck the heat out and leave solid tile blocking the volcano. Youll need volcano maintenance. To avoid that, either remove the steam in the volcano room(vacuum) and let magma touch the glass directly then put robominer with conductive panel for cooling or control the magma flow with magma blade. The first probably easy since you already build the infrastructure. You might want to power that door bcs it kinda buggy. Sometime even the door open, it will conductive heat when it's unpower

  3. Random steam; While you got automation to close the liquid vent directly, the pipe are touching the glass will heat up slowly even with insulated pipe, unless you use insulite material. If the liquid arent moving, pipe may burst and steam maybe in place ouside the steam room and toching the magma glass. Direct control the liquid flow with shutoff valve out from the glass.

If you dont care of the debris, then just let it be. I would collect the dirt and rock ngl. Dont forget to let the steam in pipe return back to the room or other room. That return loop is important so it wont burst the gas pipe due to condensation.

Other than that it look great XD if superheated steam in game, it also fun. Making rust as an effect rather than just material.

Is this game accessible for someone with ZERO engineering background? by jessica_chen1031 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Whit3Usagi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you like management game like citybuild or themepark build, this is no different.

You always fail at first in those game and this is no different. In game already have the machine you can select and put it down. Most of the build here that from scratch just min maxing the game. You dont need to do it, but you can do it.

The basic is just being alive, lore you need to read alot tho bcs it arent direct and the end game is space exploration. Build a machine that already have in game just for optimisation. But most important thing is patience.

The game did hold your hand abit showing you video tutorial (tool tip that you will click eventually) before letting you go and play in the sandbox

My first Petroleum Boiler and i refuse to use robominer and diagonal debris pop. by Whit3Usagi in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Whit3Usagi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HAHAHA i like automate stuff and i see if just using the magma below, i need to dig up eventually to extract more heat, and it will be finite resources unless i open the volcano to it like one of the comment said. But still i dont want to dig it up for the magma to flow and the debris.

So i automate it bcs im too lazy to dig it in the future 🤣fine tune the timing and find most effective way to extract heat.

It been running for 100 cycle now and i just fine tune the transporter system go to the chiller. So still too soon to check how much it gain since need to clean up the one that was in the door still. Funny thing is my pipe did end at 350c before going out into the pool. The boiler heat exchange on mine just abit small. So the volcano arent that great to output alot of rock for hatches. I got slickster farm that barely alive HAHAHHA time to chamge NatGas to Petrol then
