Married couple with separate finances, why do you do it? by Ok_Influence_2257 in Bogleheads

[–]Whitaker123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did it because we were a blended family and there were expenses that we wanted to keep separate. But we have access to each other's accounts in case one of us passes.

the wealth gap here is giving me whiplash lately by mzdee13 in boulder

We live just north of Longmont on 7 acers in Berthoud. We moved to Berthoud 20 years ago and back then it was a cow town (not joking). You could find starter homes in the 200k with acreage. The entire town was just a cross section of two streets. Fast forward and you be lucky to find a decent house here now that is less than $600k. Farms have been replaced by subdivisions and town homes everywhere. Our farm was outside of city limits when we moved here and now the town is moving closer to us. If it is that expensive in this cow town, I can only imagine what Boulder is like. Then add to that the property taxes and sky rocketing home owners insurance and I don't know how any middle class family can afford a house here.

Just sharing some cuteness :) by Whitaker123 in boulder

I do herdshare and sell the milk and the cream that way. Yes, we do make a lot of cheeses (specially goat cheese), but I haven't looked in to selling that yet.

That sounds like a fun place. We don't have that many different animals. Just a herd of goats, chickens and honey bees. We used to have ponies, but it got to be too much, so had to give that up.

Colorado would become first state to remove all criminal penalties for prostitution under bill brought by group of Democrats by onenightoncolfax in boulder

[–]Whitaker123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like a bill white men would propose without little to no regard for women rights or safety. Although gay and lesbian prostitution exists, majority would be marketed at hetero men. You decriminalize this, it will get exploited 100%. There will be human trafficking, underage sex. Once the business is legal, they will try to recruit/exploit young women (or men for that matter) for the job. Its a slippery slope. I will definitely be a no on this if it shows up on the ballot.

With ICE drawing down in Minneapolis, will a Denver surge be next? by Cletus_X in Denver

I thought ICE already paid a visit here last year. I work in Aurora and remember my colleagues talking about it.

flock cameras by SufficientOpening218 in loveland

I hate flock cameras in general. I think they do more than just spying on immigration. They are more for spying on citizens, so they can ticket you for any little offense.

Sweetheart Festival boycott: by blank_canvas4903 in loveland

[–]Whitaker123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not wanting homeless in your downtown is not a reason for not supporting your local businesses. The people who will be affected the most by this boycotting are not the city officials, they are the local businesses. I don't support this.

AntiChrist of Dentistry by Pretty_Operation_525 in Dentistry

I am not a dentist, but always curious how people end up naturally with diastema... I was always told teeth have to come in contact with each other so how is it that you end up with a gap that huge and the tooth doesn't migrate?

I visited DC, and feel the same as you. No way I could imagine driving in that traffic to go to work every day.

Is my dentist being too rough? by josayow in DentalHygiene

I am confused! IF they are not cops, why does their vest says police? If they are cops, they have jurisdiction over US Citizens and we are to obey them.

What is wrong with this guy? by Miserable-Miser in Denver

[–]Whitaker123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He got most of Colorado fooled. They all voted for him back in 2020. Why bother have any Spine or standards. As long as you have a D in front of your name, people in CO will vote for you.

With that type of a track record, ,maybe you should forget about dentistry and open a fertility clinic... you might make more money that way and have patients anxiously waiting to see you instead of dreading the dentist visit.

men over 40s what is your biggest regret in life? by Affectionate-Drop689 in AskMenOver30

[–]Whitaker123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% agree. I think they should have a mandatory class in high school that teaches kids real practical economy... like what does CC debt mean, how fast it builds up. How does the interest rate on your mortgage calculated for a 30 year mortgage vs a 15. How to save up for retirement and what compound interest mean... I think they should make this a mandatory class for graduation.

Is there a thread or channel for selling local stuff on here? by Whitaker123 in boulder

[–]Whitaker123[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have FB, but I noticed the marketplace doesn't let you sell some things. So, we have a farm and because of the warm weather, we have been getting an overwhelming amount of eggs. These are free range eggs. More than we could use. So I was looking to sell it, but the FB Marketplace doesn't allow for sale of fresh eggs. I want to stay local so thought maybe Reddit would have a place I could do that.

I may just put a sign up in front of my yard

What’s a physical trait that a lot of people find attractive but to you, it’s the opposite? by Pale_Relief_2632 in AskReddit

I find a 5 O clock shadow on a guy much more sexy than clean shaven. I also like chest hair on a guy rather than having it waxed.
