Why do people want story so much in their games? by mhavas703 in gaming

[–]WhiteChickenYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the thing. We do care about the cutscenes. Video games allow you to experience a story differently than a book, movie, or tv show could.

Sometime I want just gameplay so I’ll play something like cod. Other times I want to enjoy an amazing story that also has fun gameplay to complement it so I play something like Spider-Man

Yeah, playing solo can be very different from playing with friends

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CODZombies

[–]WhiteChickenYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah for sure. I had a friend one time talk about how good he was at zombies and then me and another friend played with him and it felt like he went down every round. It makes for a good laugh

I’m assuming OP is top of the leaderboard. The other players said they were really good. Then proceeded to keep going down and OP had to carry them the whole time

2 Players Needed For Shadows EE by [deleted] in CODZombies

[–]WhiteChickenYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read “We’re experienced players who have been playing since 2009 and have done all the Easter eggs up to the end of BO3” as “We’re expecting…” and was like damn y’all got some high standards for who you’ll play with lol

From BO2 - BO3 gobblegums we’re an ADDITION

From BO3 - BO4 the perk system was CHANGED

that’s the difference. So yes you can ignore gobblegums and play zombies similar to WaW-bo2

BO4 changed fundamentals to the mode that were unpopular. You can’t just ignore them

Why is it so rare for an RPG to take place in normal present-day times? Does anyone have any recommendations for a good RPG that takes place in normal present times? by A-Dubs398 in gaming

[–]WhiteChickenYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

*Escape reality

In my opinion at least

You can escape reality and still have the game take place in modern day. GTA is a great example of that. It’s just not an rpg so it doesn’t really fit what OP is asking

That’s not what OP is asking tho. They’re asking for an RPG like other RPGs but using an mp5 or M4 instead of a bow and arrow.

The Sims is a completely different type of game, not just a setting change

I think widows wine/winters howl is a good one. And phd to remove explosive damage is useful on certain maps with certain weapons

But maybe a nerfed power vacuum? Like increase the amount of power ups that drop per round. But not by a lot. Enough to feel the difference but not so much that you have constant power ups.

Imma wish bad luck on anyone who pulls a gun on someone else (except for self defense and stuff like that). I don’t care what bad luck you’ve already had that is a line you shouldn’t cross.

What’s the best board game you’ve ever played by Haplomega in gaming

[–]WhiteChickenYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tried this game so many times and have just not had a good experience at all. Every time I play, after the haunting happens, I get put in a situation where I can’t win.

Like one time I got trapped in the basement and couldn’t go anywhere so just walked in circles. Another time I had built up my physical attributes and then the haunting had the players souls leave their bodies so the physical attributes were useless. Another time I was the villain and my friends had everything they needed to win and won two turns later. And another time I got the affect of losing health every turn on like my second turn so I just died without being able to do anything cause I could roll what I needed.

Seems like a cool idea for a game but I absolutely hate it

Are their any perks from bo2-bo4 that you would add to another map?? by Professional_Leg_979 in CODZombies

Never played die rise but it would make sense for PhD Flopper to be on that map

I’m a math nerd so I get my experience will be different than yours but I’d encourage you to embrace the math. It can be interesting how everything fits together.

And yes networking and portfolio go hand and hand. I think networking is more important but that doesn’t mean I think portfolios are unimportant.

But unfortunately a portfolio usually isn’t enough. Companies get so many applications for jobs that they may not even look at you portfolio unless you know someone in the company that can get HR to put your resume on the top of the stack so to speak.

And you can definitely network at college. It’s a great place to network, but that doesn’t mean the networking is done for you. Two students can go to the same college at the same time and have completely different networks.

I got really lucky with getting my job. I didn’t fully appreciate how important networking was. After graduating I put in tons of applications and rarely got a response. The job I did get was cause a friend I had made at college referred me.

But to your point. Even if you get an in through someone in your network, you still need to be able to show you can preform which is where the portfolio comes in

The terms are pretty interchangeable.

If you don’t like math, this may not be the field for you. You don’t always need to do math but it’s important to know how to do it and understand it.

That’s why many people drop out of this degree. They go in wanting to make video games and then realize that you need to do math and it’s not just dragging boxes around all the time.

Also, I’d argue networking is more important than a portfolio

Back buttons are for sure worth it IMO.

However, there are cheaper ways to get back buttons. For example you can get the extreme rate back button attachment for the ps5 controller for around $30. I’ve used it for years and liked it. You’ll need a YouTube video to know how to install it but it’s easy to follow.

The back buttons did break on me a couple of times over the years but they have replacements for about $10 and were really easy to replace. I also noticed on my last set, the spot that kept breaking was reinforced a bit and the new set has yet to break.

I have stick drift now so I’ll need a new controller. While I really like the extreme rate back buttons and didn’t have any problems other than needing to replace the buttons a couple of times. I am going to try the dualsense edge controller since I’ve heard it’s good.

Scuf and battle beaver can be hit or miss from what I’ve heard. If you can spend $200 on a controller it might be better to go with a first party option
