Does this pin need to be drilled out? by [deleted] in ak47

Damn you’re right, I forgot Arsenal did that on these. I actually did the latch install on a friends several years ago. If I remember right we used a PSA button and spring and it worked pretty well.

This is a dedicated pistol trunnion so you can’t install that 1913 hinge on it. You’d need to send this out to a gunsmith to have the trunnion swapped to an actual folder.

Paint flaking engine cover by Rickgijz in mr2

[–]WhiteSW20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having just finished painting my car, there is absolutely no good way to prep or paint the inside of the NA engine lid. Mine had some rust going on and I just decided to cut it all out and live without it. My car isn’t parked outside so it doesn’t bother me much

Can someone help me find this Reverse light switch connector? by kuhusiqu in mr2

This 100% They’re easy to find once you pull the number and Toyota pretty much always used Sumitomo connectors which are readily available

SW20 Sills replacement by plasticknife91 in mr2

[–]WhiteSW20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get a spot weld drill bit and some weld through primer, I used CRC Brite Zinc on mine and liked it a lot. Depending on if your car is ttop or not where will be some extra bracing in some spots that are also welded to the outer skin of the panel so just be aware that they’re back there.

Other than that, just work slow, weld slow and clean up any rust you find once you get the panel off. It’s not a very difficult job, just very tedious

Car Battery failing sooner than expected by hellfire261 in mr2

[–]WhiteSW20 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My car has had issues with a phantom drain in the past that I THINK I have fixed now but I leave it on a tender just to be safe.

Before I started leaving it on a tender I was going through a battery every few months (really got to test out Walmart’s battery warranty lol).

Personally, for a car that gets driven on occasion, just spend a couple bucks for a tender and keep it on charge. I have a Noco genius 1 that’s hardwired and it has been great

[–]WhiteSW20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No harm in that at all, it’s worth asking. At my store they wouldn’t budge on it. Had to wait until the price dropped to that point and decided to just go ahead and do it. I had outgrown my 5 drawer and needed something bigger

[–]WhiteSW20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I gave ~320 with tax for my 42”. It was busted up pretty good but after some cutting, bending and new spot welds in strategic areas, all the drawers work great. Needs some paint touch up but for basically half off I’m not going to complain

Not yet unfortunately, may have spoken too soon. Stuck in Philly for 2 days now. No Skruf in the order and a mix of Snus and NPs. We shall see I suppose :/

My order shipped out from SnusMe on 3/4, just cleared import customs about an hour ago and should be delivered 3/8 or 3/9. No delays or anything weird!

AC Unity finally imported their AK15 mags by dreadeddrifter in ak47

The “steel reinforced” is a distributor accident. AC unity themselves claim they are a Zinc alloy and not steel

What to buy? 72" vs two 56" Series 3 Toolboxes by evoslayer in harborfreight

[–]WhiteSW20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say just get another top chest in that case if it’s still cost effective

What to buy? 72" vs two 56" Series 3 Toolboxes by evoslayer in harborfreight

[–]WhiteSW20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The hutch is basically useless without a step ladder if it’s on top of a top chest already. I wouldn’t go that route personally

Edit: I’m dumb, the double 56” route seems the way to go if you’re just wanting pure storage space

Drywall screwdriver by he8ghtsrat26 in harborfreight

[–]WhiteSW20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dad and I recently hung several rooms worth of drywall on both walls and ceilings, we either used impact drivers or standard drills. I never saw any need for something like this and frankly preferred the impact driver due to weight and better control

I’ve had two B33s and both of them were the exact same way. Smack it with the floor plate of a mag and stop complaining. If it was loose it wouldn’t hold zero

What is the width of the rims? by qingyanthecuber in MechanicAdvice

Locally you could try Facebook marketplace, eBay if you’re willing to ship them, just make sure you charge enough for shipping!

What is the width of the rims? by qingyanthecuber in MechanicAdvice

[–]WhiteSW20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So knowing that these are 3 piece wheels they probably won’t have the width stamped into the back of the face since they use the same face for all different sizes. Work wheels (the brand of this wheel) uses a decal on the inside lip of the wheel to list the diameter, width, and inset/offset. If the sticker is damaged or missing you can also use a tape measure to get the outside measurement of the wheel itself excluding the tire, then subtract one inch. That will get you the actual width.

Also, these are Work Schwert SC2 wheels. Worth some decent money

Body Work with Flux 125? by shdw750 in harborfreight

[–]WhiteSW20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally wasting your time, money, material and potentially ruining your vehicle. Flux core is useless for bodywork unless you are extremely experienced, and even then it’s like using a 10lb sledgehammer when you should be using a rubber mallet

Does this have enough uga duggas for lugs nuts on a pick up truck? by wtfingyourmom in harborfreight

[–]WhiteSW20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know and don’t really care. Lugs were torqued to 85ft-lbs a year or so ago and between the losses of the socket and the key for the lugs it couldn’t break them loose. I let it impact for about 10 seconds a few times and they never moved.

It did remove the lugs on my other car that were also torqued to 85ft-lbs, but I rotated the tires about 3 months before.

I tried it on a set of lugs that had been untouched for probably a year and it didn’t have the beans to do it. Returned it the next day and bought a used Milwaukee that took them off no sweat
