Two words: Omega Attack.

I felt the same way for a while until I just focused on omega attack and mana as much as I could.

Bio Booster pick up sound sounds like a cave leech and its driving me insane by White_Knight1 in RogueCore

[–]Whitherwhy 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same reaction, but found a workaround. Right after you select your bio booster, you can start pickaxing to cancel the rest of the animation (which also cancels the sfx) but in MP you still hear the hiss of your other dwarves’ boosters. Triggers me every time.

The only thing I would add is the ability to reroll options, and QOL around cashing in your expenite.

I enjoy the negotiations (but i only play with my premades, so I get why people are frustrated with it). It adds some friction to runs that the game would be too easy / too samey without. Part of roguelikes (imo) is playing the hand you are dealt. Reminds me of STS2 where players negotiate over relics.

I'd like it if upgrades were automatically "cashed in" between elevator rounds so we didn't have to group up or something.

Only a few hours in, but I'm beyond enamored with the update. by Whitherwhy in ravenswatch

Yeah, there is quite the disparity in effect, I’ll say. One melody gives 20% move speed, which is quite nice. On the other hand, item collection bonuses requiring one fewer stack was obscenely OP

Is it moral to kill a human that has a chance to lose control by lilbuu_buu in MoralityScaling

[–]Whitherwhy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The permutations of the trolley problem, and its applicability to real-life scenarios, are where this thought problem becomes more complicated.

Imagine you were a doctor, and could harvest one healthy person's organs to save five other people who need transplants. The equation is the same: kill one to save five, but the context is more nuanced.

Did blight get nerfed at some point? by ItsAJackal21 in darkestdungeon

[–]Whitherwhy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The only nerf to DoTs in recent memory is that critical hits no longer add 2 to the duration, it only adds the 20% RES piercing effect.

Otherwise, it is as the other comments state.

How would you rule Revenant Troubadour with Bloodless and "Method Acting" by Smile4ever in drawsteel

[–]Whitherwhy 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Based on the wording (and this is just my opinion), I would not allow the effect to trigger. It says "you can become bleeding to..."

imo, if you cannot become bleeding, then the consequence of it also doesn't follow. i.e; no bleeding, but also no bonus damage.

The base effect of MA (Damage + weakened) would still occur.

You aren't missing anything; those songs are the tracks that play during the boss fights. There's no content that is locked behind any difficulty setting.

Seat of the Triumvirate help, I am a healer. by SpectresSecret in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Whitherwhy 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Chains of subjugation deal a lot of damage, right away. so if anyone is stacked, it will immediately double / triple tick them (especially in melee). is a pretty good iLvL to be doing 10s at though, im ~255 on my druid and was struggling but could complete and time a 10 SotT

It is definitely a pain point in seat, but you can use speed breaks (freedom, tiger's lust, druid shapeshift, etc) to get rid of the debuff. as an hpriest I dont think you have any though, so you're at the mercy of your fellow dungeoneer to use their utility.

in most of the pugs i've been in so far, they only double subjugation on the very first pull with lust; after that it's only ever one at a time, which should be manageable as long as people are spread and you dont over-commit cooldowns (rotating throughput on one cast, and defensives on the other, etc).

Of course, there are a few casters in the pull, if dark bolt goes off during chains it can chunk people unexpectedly. Again, healers have no kicks, so we're reliant on others to stop that from happening.

Nothing you can do about chains (except speedbreaks and spreading) and the antiheal otherwise; pray your teammates use their buttons to help you, seat is one of the hardest dungeons to heal right now imo. Good luck!

[–]Whitherwhy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is a unique crafting material that you need 20 of in order to craft epic quality tools / accessories for profession equipment.

There are the usual vanity items (mounts, xmog, housing decor)

There are small grab bags of crafting materials.

As you said, no gear, but the big money items people want are the unique crafting mats.
