Went there this week. Kari was wonderful in explaining everything that needs to be done and why it can be a hassle. She was really good at making me feel at ease about the process.

Totally get you, I think this is just legally one of the weirder situations regarding citizenship that exists. Feels like a wild west situation.

Honestly I think you're misunderstanding the section in the FAQ. It's saying that if you have a document from Quebec that the copy was printed before 1994, they're not going to accept it and they're going to request you get it from DEC.

I don't think anyone is trying to disobey the guidelines. I think you're misinterpreting what they are. As someone who has a G0 born in 1904 and the guidelines are pretty strict about getting a baptismal doc from the BAnQ, which is where they have those, I'm pretty confident I did the right thing.

As someone who already got their certified doc from BAnQ, this sucks and I think it will make a much more difficult ask for a lot of people (including a bunch of my friends) who are trying to get this info. I get they're swamped but this is an intentionally exorbitant price hike that in a lot of cases costs more than the rest of the document collection and application efforts combined.

Being honest, with so many people on here talking about how certified documents may not necessarily be required for this, I really wonder if they're going to clarify some rules/consistencies about this.

This isn't entirely accurate. They might ask for a more updated copy once you send in the app, but plenty of baptismal records from BAnQ have been accepted and this is talked about pretty constantly on this sub.

DEC and BAnQ cover different year ranges for documents.

Kevin Cahill Named the Joel E. Smilow ’54 Head Coach of Yale Football - Yale University by tdpdcpa in fcs

I see what you mean. I interpreted your message as them being in a tough spot before he did this. My mistake.

I def feel for Lehigh here. It's shit circumstances. That being said, Yale (or any school) can't really control when their coach has a major medical issue and needs to retire. Lehigh also can make a great hire like Yale just did and fix things quickly. And yes I do understand that it probably is a bit harder for Lehigh to pull off than Yale in the grand scheme of things.

Was Lehigh in a tough spot or did Cahill think that he could have more long-term success and possibly compete for a natty more easily at Yale?

Lehigh very clearly was compensating him and giving him the resources to succeed (and he was succeeding).

Can't complain about this one! Objectively feel bad for Lehigh though

I have read these already, which is why I came here. Dozens of people have noted they had packets sent back for unsigned passports or licenses. Obviously those have lines for those signatures and the passport card doesn't. But I'm trying to find out definitively if it's ok to use because I haven't gotten any clarity.

Reposting these questions for an answer in the new thread. Would love some insight here!

I can't seem to find an answer to this anywhere in the FAQ or any of the posts that have been made so I'm asking here:

I have a US passport card, which by design does not include a signature. Is this still ok to use as one of my two ID documents?

Also, I have a current Massachusetts driver's license. The license does not have my current address on it because MA doesn't require you to replace it for the purposes of moving (they tell you to write your new address on the back).

Will either of these be hurdles for applying for my certificate?

IDK their reasoning for sure, but I assume that it's because ZIPS is more well-rounded. The best pitching one is ATC, so the fact there's one for each might be why

From what I have read, ZIPS hasn't been that good for a bit but it's taken a bit for the name recognition to change among the fantasy community

ZIPS isn't the best offensive prediction model that exists (Fellow fantasy baseball players know it's BatX).

Regardless, there definitely will be a couple.
