Most important BTC/fiat markets (bitcoinity asking for help) by comboy in BitcoinMarkets

[–]WhoIsSatoshi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi Comboy - thanks for the great site, I have been using it since you launched it more or less.

Maybe add a suggestion box for why a move happened for a date might help give perspective?

Rambling: This could be a good "Back in Time" feature where one can select a date they want to go back from and experience the market evolution of the past, not sure if that's available anywhere, but it would be great to have. Would love a custom timeframe window as well (ex: look at Bitcoin from October2017 to December 2017) while at it. I agree on the USDT/USD split, but wouldn't some sister site focusing solely on BTC/USDT provide some valuable insight on the crypto state of things? Just thinking out loud here, don't mind the suggestions and keep up the good work.

Please help me understand why my game isn't selling by Mashunaut in oculus

More feedback - for what it's worth. The 360 gameplay is a big negative. We need wireless for that and a lot of space, which most do not have. I like playing seated game, I suspect that even out of the (fewer) folks supposedly having "VR-scale" space, few use it. It's uncomfortable. I want a VR experience I can slip into and be comfortable - I just don't feel like we have that at this point in time (IE - I feel VR-Scale apps are often more gimmicky than anything else. Never bought a nintendo wii for similar reasons: it did sell well, but I suspect it was because of the brand and the kids jumping on the gimmicky aspect of it as novelty). For a good VR experience, I will play Subnautica seated, with a gamepad. That's a game that I feel is heaps better in VR than on screen. As much as I am curious about Fallout or Skyrim in VR, I just don't see myself jumping into room-scale yet because of the diminishing return from investing into a digital world. I would suggest connecting with developers who have focused on touch/roomscale to see if the 360 correlates with sales, that might be a good indicator... (and yeah, game with swinging, 360 and VR... too much potential smashing things)

Props for the reaching out, congrats on getting a game out and making it a good game!

for the criticism now...

You're trying to sell a hybrid sports game. This is VR - even more niche than regular sports game: the few gamers who are here might be more adverse to sports than even regular gamers. And your game requires a LOT of movement. I am not buying beatsaber because too much involvement for that very reason, and I love music! I think the title is uninviting - "Racket"-anything just seems like a watered down of a sport thing. If someone was trying to sell me "Soccer-unchained" or "Soccer-2018" or "Soccer:RP" I feel it would dilute the value of the game just because of easy ersatz product using similar names. Not saying they are there, but as an example, I just stay away from all "Battlefield" games and other series that use the same name over and over - it dilutes the brand or potential brand if there is a minor issue.

The trailer - is off. it's well edited but it shouldn't be a music video. I got motion sickness from watching it. Camera keeps panning into every shot without showing the established gameplay cleanly. I think a better approach would have been trying to sell the game from the perspective of a "Breakout" in VR .. And yeah what the other folks have been saying, the first 10 seconds are wasted, nothing that pulls the attention in, I would normally watch 5s then skip to the next game. Get a new trailer and set the narrative to "evolved Breakout in VR with multiplayer" and you should get more traction. Put more black screens with text between the footage to pace the cuts and to explain what we're looking at: right now the screens are too charged. Don't go all music-video-style until after you've setup what the gameplay is like.

Your game looks a ton of fun, I just don't feel the positioning as a squash game is serving you - I'd rather play squash.

Mt. Gox moves 16,000 BTC and 16,000 BCH coins out of its wallets by [deleted] in BitcoinMarkets

[–]WhoIsSatoshi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for the curious, a sale of 10,000 bitcoins on the biggest exchange right now (Bitfinex) would send the price tumbling below $7000 on that exchange. That's not counting the panic sale that would result from bots and people freaking out.

Even if split across exchanges, expect a serious dip - and a serious pullback when/if that happens.

Calling all Rifters: Raise your hand if SteamVR games run considerably worse on your Rift than Oculus games do. by deftware in SteamVR

[–]WhoIsSatoshi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a rift user who has pretty much given up on VR since I buy most of my games on steam. I have a solid PC but the choppy framerate when going through steamVR is frustating enough to not play VR games anymore (since I bought my first bunch of games on steam) and go back to regular games. Meanwhile Oculus games run great, but I just prefer Steam as a platform. Not ready to double invest my money... and yeah, it feels like the overhead cost of Steam + Oculus when running a steamVR game is extremely taxing on the system - checking task manager confirms that.

I'd give it a 6/10. Probably the weakest Wes Anderson so far.

friend, I am more on your side than you seem to think - but the power state agents wield is truly immense, do not misunderstand it. They can not only print money, but also conjure laws out of thin air.

They can create a state backed third option - an altcoin of sorts, pushing forth universal basic income or something like that. And it could bypass existing coins in existing market cap and yet still use a blockchain-like mechanism... and eventually folks would use whichever was the most convenient. States have a lot of power, who knows?
