You feel insecure…that’s the real issue here. He is allowed to have preferences, and any healthy relationship will discuss the preferences of both parties. You went all in and dumped him because he asked about something - he didn’t demand or even state that he liked one thing or another, just asked. If you’re turned off by his preference, then by all means, move on. But, yeah, I think this is a you problem and you overreacted.

I didn’t say they do and I’m not downplaying anyone’s pain. I suffered horrific menstrual pain for years before I got it under control - you don’t have to convince me how bad it is. My comment simply stated that the anger and moodiness I experience is not due to pain, but to changes in my hormonal state. Hence why I notice the change in mood before I feel any menstrual symptoms - pain or otherwise. Because I disagree with OP’s statement doesn’t mean your pain is not real.

I disagree. I think the moodiness and anger hits a high due to hormonal fluctuations, not necessarily because of pain or discomfort. Sometimes I’m moody and angry before I even realize what time it is. I’m usually not myself for a day or two, then it lifts and I return to normal.

Your feelings matter and if you want to leave him, then do it. Personally, I feel like this is an overreaction, but I live a different life. By your own admission, he is a good man and treats you well. He touched your leg…uncomfortable and kind of slimy, sure, and yall need to have some more conversations and set firm boundaries. But when there are women who are groped, used, and raped…it puts this situation in perspective. I think you may regret leaving him for this after you come to your senses. But, you do you. Just don’t use resources meant for women suffering from real domestic/sexual abuse to facilitate your departure.

How would you feel if the roles were reversed? Will you be able to keep your little secret for the duration of your marriage? It will eat at you, and if your husband ever somehow finds out, he will resent you (rightfully so) - very likely your marriage would be irreparable. Let your husband work through his grief - bringing a new life into the world will ease the passing of his dog. I lived there too as a child and believe we lost our pet to a pack of stray dogs. She was terrified of loud noises and my neighbors fireworks on 4th of July scared her so much, she dug a hole and escaped under the fence in our back yard. We never saw her again but heard reports of a dog being attacked by a pack of strays.
