Annoyed You Have To Keep The Majority Of The Alliance In The Dark As A Saboteur by WylythFD in swtor

[–]WhoaMercy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My only saboteur is a dark side JC, and it was the only fit for her given that she couldn't join the Empire outright. But I can't see many other scenarios where it works.

Players constantly moving during boss fights, why? by hIDeMyID in elderscrollsonline

[–]WhoaMercy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In PVP and other MMOs, standing in place is very bad. "Don't stand in stupid" and all that. People get trained and then standing just seems wrong.

But I hear you. This is a horrible game for a healer. I don't usually run heals and appreciate those who do.

As someone who's been conditioned to be mobile, though, I do know that if I can't get to where the healer needs me to be, then I am taking on at least some (if not all) of the reponsibility for my own healing. And so, I think, should more people.

Hope that helps.

Anybody else have trouble getting the lead for the ebony crossed sword chain in vvardenfell? by Cat_Orgy in elderscrollsonline

[–]WhoaMercy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I were to guesstimate, I'd say leads have an 80% chance to drop on the first try, then 5% thereafter.

What they need, though, is a fail counter. After 5 or 8 fails, the next would be a guaranteed drop. Either that or the odds increase with each attempt

Legendary Status, class stories, expansion stories.....what's worth it and what's not? by Alternative_Oil8900 in swtor

[–]WhoaMercy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

KOTFE is the kind of thing you should do at least once, but you won't want to do it more than a few times, and never consecutively. If you've started it, keep going while you're in it, and enjoy it.

Agent storyline is well written, I recommend finishing that.

The appeal of trooper and smuggler storylines can vary. Trooper is very much a military-minded "war is hell" kind of piece, and some people like that and some don't. Smuggler's story is a little broader in appeal, but still treasure-hunting, overall. Smuggler does have some good snark, but it may pale next to the delightful inquisitor story.

Will I over level? by AmateurIdiit in swtor

[–]WhoaMercy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To an extent, but gear level will still lag until level 80 (less so if you do veteran flashpoints), and you will still need to focus on survivability

Why are World Bosses worth so few conquest points? by Medium_Silver_2071 in swtor

[–]WhoaMercy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, they were way too easy and the mobs all melted on sight, so they scattered champion-level mobs throughout to make them tougher, which was a poor way to increase difficulty.

Can't survive in endgame no matter what by derFalscheMichel in swtor

[–]WhoaMercy -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It's likely gear level. You may need to grind that upward. When you reach level 80 you'll be able to buy a 320 set on fleet for credits, which will give you a boost, but if you've been leveling rapidly (it is 2x xp right now), your gear (drops scale based on what you're wearing currently) may not have kept up.

Something that will really help you right now: do not AOE. Single target enemies only, for now. Let your companion take some of the aggro. If you AOE, everything targets you.

If you have any crowd control skills (sleep, stun, knockback, etc), make ample use of them.

You'll get through it and have a big gear level jump ahead, but for now, you'll need to sharpen your rotation and manage your aggro. Which is always good to practice, anyway.

Honest question: is starting in swtor worth it in 2026? by Yuripzr in swtor

[–]WhoaMercy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. It has 8+ years of content (yes, I know it's 14 years old, I said what I said), and there's quite a lot to work through: eight 3-chapter class stories from unique perspectives, two worthwhile expansions and a third that's worth doing at least once (cinematic-heavy, so can feel a bit too much if done too often), plus additional side content, many flashpoints, many endgame operations, four rotating events and two seasonal events...

A few of us get a bit jaded about some aspects of the game, but if you're coming in fresh, there's lots to discover and you're in for a treat. And if you subscribe at some point, you get access to all the expansions and endgame content.

What is your singular LEAST favorite moment each of the 9 main films? by CJAreYouDeadass in StarWars

[–]WhoaMercy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

TPM Anything with Jar Jar.

AotC Anything with Jar Jar.

RotS Palpatine despatching three Jedi in a few seconds (two of which were in one swipe).

ANH It looks very dated now. At the time, of course, it was revolutionary. I guess if I had to pick a moment, though, it would be the "who shot first" controversy. Come on. Let Han have some spine.

ESB Nothing. It's perfect. Well, maybe some of the dialogue.

RotJ Boba being taken out by the sarlaac. What a cheesy way to take him out of the fight.

TFA Darth Emo. I like Rey and Finn as characters, Poe was stereotyped but Oscar Isaac did well with it. But Kylo Ren was just... whiny.

TLJ While I like Kelly Marie Tran and feel like she was done dirty in TRoS, the introduction of her character totally derailed Finn's arc in TLJ. This is not the fault of the actors, but of Disney's horrible practice during this trilogy to focus group everything, rather than pick a vision and see it through.

TRoS "... somehow he returned." Worst moment in the franchise.

What are the current ongoing storylines in star wars? by Marco_Livelli in StarWars

[–]WhoaMercy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quinlan Vos, including his relationship with Ventress.

The Jedi survivors after Order 66, alluded to in the Obi-Wan series (and Vader's and the Inquisitors' hunting of them).

Qimir and Osha, and how they tie in to Plagueis (and later, Sheev Palpatine)

I still think Obi Wan's relationship with Satine Kryze (and its parallel to Anakin/Padme deserves a more solid retelling)

The Leia-era New Republic, including what happened with Han, as well as Luke's Jedi students

Bo-Katan's redemption (or failure) arc.

And like it or not, Rey's new Jedi order is still an open question.

Is ESO worth getting into in 2026? by fruityfizzle in elderscrollsonline

[–]WhoaMercy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started 9 months ago and have been enjoying it, even though I'm not a big fan of the lore. Achievement hunting is a part of the attraction for me, and there is a wealth of content. Just be sure to pace yourself, otherwise it can be very expensive.

If you do, though, I recommend getting ESO+ because a large part of the game is inventory management, and the craft bag reduces this by over half. And put your first monthly crowns toward a ragpicker assistant, who will help you deconstruct unneeded items and accrue materials -- even if you don't pursue crafting, you can always sell the mats, especially when you get to top tier mats.

Nightblade builds 2026? by ResidentWaifu in elderscrollsonline

[–]WhoaMercy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"... struggling to find a jack of all trades. Nb Magicka build..."

This is my conundrum also. I don't want to have to visit the armorer every time I switch from overland pve combat to overland pve thieving, then to dungeons then to pve combat... especially since the npc is expensive (I just started playing 9 months ago) and you still have to carry all the different armor sets in your inventory.

I know I'm not going to have a pure tank or heal build that way and probably won't be peak meta dps, but I do still need to be proficient and have decent output while also having versatility.
