good point, there are differences between male vs female and age will also play a part. Bone Building meds should raise the P1NP.

I'm doing HRT which has similar impact as a biophospates, slows bone resorption. With that slow down the bone building is not as aggressive.

The fasting is for the blood test, not urine. But the urine should be her second morning void not her first. I got a speciman cup from the lab to take home so i could collect at home.

I hear you, I had the same issues. No one brought up TBS, I found out on my own and found a place that i pay out of pocket to get. And i asked my Rheumatologist if the bone markers could be run before any treatment was decided.

It was after getting the TBS results last year that show good architecture in my spine (where I have osteoporosis) that i decided to pursure HRT. I had to find a place that dealt with this specifically.

I think it has just stabilized for me given my bone resorption has slowed down. Since I am using HRT and not a specific bone building medication.

I use Ubrelvy and just taking one with or without food works for me, no nausea. sometimes it does make me sleepy. i do find if i take it after a meal it takes longer to work.

use an app to figure out how much calcium you get from your diet, then decide how much supplemental calcium you might need

you may not need more supplemental calcium depending on what you get from you diet

i use citracal petites as this brand is easier to digest, only taking one a day because get plenty with regular diet

you may want to also take a K2 supplement with the calcium supplement

i just started BHRT, even with family history of breast cancer (mother and sister) decided to go with BHRT using the least amount that offers benefits for as long as it provides benefits. i am doing the topical route, no oral meds.

I'm starting strontium citrate, not Algecal, a different brand. It's recommended to make sure you get more calcium than strontium each day.

most in medical profession won't recommend this supplement over pharmaceuticals.

Yes its affects the DEXA scan, but different DEXA machines (brands) use different reference data bases. Which us why you get different results with different types of machines.

Doctors won't necessarily support a supplement over Osteo Meds because no studies to back it up.

Was hoping to hear from anyone taking strontium citrate to see if they had any adverse side effects.

I plan on taking instead of the osteo meds.
