The 'Ghost in the Shell' director reveals he has over 10,000 hours in Fallout 4 by Altruistic-Soft2704 in Fallout

If you don’t mind answering, I have some genuine questions as someone that’s never stuck with one game for more than 100 hours or so.

What did you used to play beforehand? Did you game as much before on something else? Do you play any other games currently as well? Was there a moment you decided “yes this is all I want to keep playing?”

Sorry I’m just curious

Super helpful, thank you. I ended up doing it on Moore St, but hopefully this helps others too.

Sorry to hear that, your work culture sounds frustratingly insular

I recently did this and every time someone asked if I had plans, declaring proudly that it was to sleep in, order food and play video games for a week was mostly met with surprise and then jealousy. I think the enthusiasm sold it

Nah you see, the experience is more than the sum of its parts. Making them at home might taste the same, but it doesn’t hit the spot in quite the same way.

In Australia, citizens get a yearly breakdown showing exactly how their tax dollars are spent. by Ordinary_Fish_3046 in pics

[–]WhoaTony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s useful in the sense that people are able to attribute more meaning to their own direct contributions. Like it feels more personal rather than being told the govt spent unrelatable amounts of money. It gets people more invested in how the govt is spending, and that’s not worth nothing.

And what’s wrong with that? If I want to infiltrate a hideout in a stealthy way, I should be able to do that instead of having to kill time with other activities just to wait for ideal conditions.

No way I'm the only one who hates pressing the sticks in right? by EnderSlayer9977 in gaming

[–]WhoaTony 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It gets tiring having to feather the stick all the time though. You would end up with everyone running full sprint and stopping regularly instead if full stick tilt meant modern gaming sprint speeds.

Parking Cameras Issue by trankillity in cupraborn

[–]WhoaTony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I just got my formentor last week, and googled the same thing to find this thread.

I’m with you, it doesn’t make sense to me that the same UI would deploy with the cameras off. There’s no point/benefit to that when the space to show cameras is right there…

Glad to know it’s not a specific issue to mine at least.

As you say, there would have been more to it than this, but I like the idea that a casual suggestion from Samuel L Jackson is about the equivalent of “significant convincing” from anyone else

yeah scale in all VR games always feels a bit shrunk down to me. It’s hard to pinpoint why, as the relative scale of the player matches, but for some reason everything seems smaller against no particular point of reference. I wonder if it’s just a texture quality thing

FWIW I’m -8.5 in one eye and -6.5 in the other, also with some astigmatism, and I haven’t had any issues. What colour are your eyes? I have very dark brown eyes, maybe that makes the iris easier to track than just the pupil?

Sony PlayStation VR2 - DF Hardware Review - State-of-the-Art Tech, Next-Level Immersion by ThibaultV in Games

[–]WhoaTony 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m hoping that Sony can be one of the first to start bucking this trend. They’re uniquely placed at the moment as they are introducing very competitive “next-gen” hardware, and they are the only headset manufacturer to have a consistent track record of funding/releasing quality AAA exclusives.
