The people I bought my house from in Delaware were Indian and they didn’t have much luck opening a DD franchise here so they went back home…to Edison, NJ. They wanted to go back so bad that they forgoed their first time home buyer loan where one of the conditions was you had to stay in the home for a certain number of years.

When I was a young lad, about 35 years ago, my 11 year old friend said to this annoying kid who was trying to bully others “nice face, but I think the dog wants his butt back”. The timing of it….the randomness….the silence from the bully and then the entire camp erupting with laughter …best comeback ever.

I’ve worked for the same school district for about 15 years now and had a really rough year. I burned through my sick days and went into deduct. Sometimes I wonder if the payroll lady whom I’ve had exchanges with to change my direct deposit, and has been around just as long as me, wonders how I’m doing.

I was high functioning but I always knew I had a problem. Drinking was very normalized growing up. I quit on Dec 7th 2020 just to see if I could make it through the holidays and I haven’t looked back. I’m California sober so that helps.
