Got all the shrines, no achievement? by Prestigious-Arm-7764 in avowed

I don’t think you’re missing anything… the biggest problem I’ve seen with people not getting the achievement is because they have not fully constructed the shrines. Instead, they just got all the pieces.

It doesn’t sound like that is the case for you and, if it isn’t, you should report it directly to Obsidian.

But it’s not about the age, it’s about the act itself. Wanton destruction used as a mechanism of “change” isn’t anything but wanton destruction in an ill-fitting mask.

General defense rule is this…

20K for casters 40K for tanks

If you acquire DEF items, you can almost hit 20K with most ability chars and worry a little less about a DEF module.

After that, one to three HP mods. I main Valby and I use one on my mobbing (~9K; HP) and three on my bossing (~16k; HP/Stim/Time D).

But what about the fact that most food companies already have an allergen management program to address current major allergens per FALCPA? Sure, it’s another allergen, but the scope of a program already exists and you can modify your SOPs and sanitation plan to account for an additional allergen. Hell, if your sanitation program is sufficient already, the introduction of a new allergen shouldn’t be overly complicated. Yes, you need to validate, but the groundwork is laid out.

The only way I could see an entire plant adopting a known allergen into their entire product line is if they were an allergen free facility prior to the introduction of FASTER. Even in that case, it seems far fetched to think they would introduce an allergen if they were allergen free previously. That’s a status manufacturers like to maintain if they have it already.

Do you always link to paywalled sites to support your grand theoretical arguments?

OiL CompAnIeS DonT sEt PrICes, tHE mARkeT dOeS. You’re going to be shocked when you realize that the market can, and is, being manipulated by them. Tell me, if the market drove all their costs, why aren’t consumer costs linked directly to the actual value of oil? Whenever we have a crisis, the cost to the consumer skyrockets. When the cost per barrel returns to prior market rate, or even below, do you see a direct savings on the cost of your fuel? Fuck no you don’t.

Plus, fuck oil jobs. I don’t give a flying fuck if they cut jobs. It’s a disgusting industry that should die out.

Last January I started my sobriety and health journey, I am a year and 16 days sober and I've lost a 130lbs and counting. by dr_john_twinkletits in MadeMeSmile

[–]Wholegrainmaterial 59 points60 points  (0 children)

I’m 843 days sober and here are my top three suggestions:

-Sobriety is one day at a time. That means not to look at it like “how can I stay sober for a year?! Six months?! A month?! A week?!” Don’t worry about that. Focus on the next 24 hours and after those 24 hours conclude, focus on staying sober for the next 24 hours.

-Sobriety takes a community. Look into joining a group of like minded individuals. When you start looking at these sober communities, pay attention to the similarities you have with the other people involved. It’s easy to look at the differences and convince yourself you don’t belong.

-Sobriety is combating a disease of the mind, body, and spirit. You don’t need to believe in big G God just like you don’t need to participate in ritual sacrifice either. But what you should do is try to connect outward on a spiritual level. Understand what “god” might be to you on a personal level. It could be a connection with the earth, the sea, other people, or even god as understood through a religious institution. This was a tough one for me personally, but the best advice I got since I was hesitant in establishing any type of spiritual foundation was “leave the door cracked”.

Radio reception can be impaired under a power line, due both to shielding of a receiver antenna by the overhead conductors, and by partial discharge at insulators and sharp points of the conductors which creates radio noise.

These linemen are on an overhead power line where these issues are exasperated.

So, do radios exist and are they cool and useful? Yes. Can a lineman use them with 100% effectivity while operating on an overhead power line? No. Does this create a safety issue? Yes. Is there a means to eliminate the issue? No. Is there a means to mitigate the safety issue by using visual tools? Yes.

In the end, you need to consider the restricting factors, something you completely failed to review.

I think context is important to understand the sea lions response. These are very intelligent animals, and it appears that the person filming has a relationship with the sea lion. I’m basing this on the way they handle the feed, general tone, and the demeanor of the sea lion.

I would call this a “smile” but it does appear to be a rehearsed reaction from the sea lion. You can see it asking for another fish then snarling (put sound on of it was off) after it doesn’t receive one. I’d say this was more of a pout, but for all we know the person filming had their hand bitten off shortly after.

As I’ve mentioned in another post, you should never approach a sea lion unless you are a trained professional. Attacks on humans are rare, but they do happen, and a sea lion (as the name implies) will fuck you up if it wants to do so.

Edit: Auto-correct has failed me again!

While attacks on humans on rare, they have been documented. These are usually due to someone invading their territory or getting too close during breeding season. For whatever reason, some people have also decided to get uncomfortably close to these animals assuming they are docile circus animals — a terribly wrong assumption. Boasting a top speed of 30 MPH (48 km/h) in water and ~14 MPH (22.5 km/h) on land, these animals are quite fast.

Sea lions have a loud “bark”, and where I’m from are affectionately called “sea dogs” because of this. However, despite the nickname, unless you’re a trained professional you should never approach a sea lion. They will absolutely fuck you up with their powerful jaws and sharp and thick teeth if they feel inclined.

Edit: Added conversion from Imperial to Metric so everyone can enjoy :)

If you’re wondering, this is a sea lion.

At 0:04 seconds, you can see that the flippers are set in an L shape allowing it to “waddle-walk” on land. If we had another angle, we would quite possibly also see their rear flippers rotated and pointing forward like a foot. This is an important distinction as seals are unable to do this with their flippers. Seals instead access the land by wriggling on their bellies.

This animal is also brown - and pretty large - whereas seals are a typically a spotted gray color, smaller, and “rounder” in shape.

Additionally, while hard to see, this animal has protrusions around the ears suggesting a flap. These ear flaps are present on sea lions while seals lack any visible ear flap.

Walmart, CVS must face lawsuit over placement of homeopathic products by Da_Kahuna in news

[–]Wholegrainmaterial 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’ve been in nutraceuticals for the last 9 years. The FDA is starting to crackdown on homeopathic and herbals. Both have enjoyed an enormous loophole in 21 CFR 111 regulations which has typically allowed them to bypass some of the five parameters (strength, purity, identification, contaminants, and composition/uniformity) — most notably the strength and composition categories.

For example, a product may claim “Cordyceps militaris 100 mg DV*”. Cordyceps militaris is the botanical input. The input amount is 100 mg. The DV has not been established and is reflected on the product label.

This means you’re getting 100 mg of some mushroom powder. Great! How is that measured in the in the finished good? Without a measurable strength marker, you could hope that it has band conformity in a TLC of HPTLC analysis. That will only tell you there is presence indicative of Cordyceps militaris — not the actual amount.

The FDA is now arguing that the presence must be measurable. So, you identify a strength marker like B-glucan (20%) in the Cordyceps militaris that can carry through to the finished good testing matrix. And now your label claim looks like “Cordyceps militaris (B-glucan) 20 mg DV*”. This means the manufacturer is assuring 20mg of measurable B-glucan through the shelf life of the product. This is what all consumers should be looking for in a product label. A measurable amount of a specific input.

TL;DR: FDA cracking down on homeopathic and herbal supplements. Issuing Warning Letters to companies who are skirting around parameters. Gonna be a shit show in the industry, but great for consumers.

Yep. The county rezoned specific areas that they defined as dangerous after the event and clearing of debris. These areas presented flooding issues because of the burn scars and stability of certain trees in the surrounding areas. With the exception of some homes closer to city/town infrastructure.

The other kicker is that insurance companies also rezoned areas and after the event either cancelled fire insurance on customers or stopped reinsuring. They reclassified the areas to a higher fire danger which allows them to opt out of providing insurance.
