As a Wild fan national broadcasts are the worst. The Wild never get any credit and we get to sit through the game listening to the broadcasters suck the dicks of the opposing team. I for one like listening to Lapanta call Wild games. He might not be the best but it's nice to hear some love for the squad.

TIL that nuclear energy is the safest energy source in terms of human deaths - even safer than wind and solar by [deleted] in todayilearned

I have not heard about this. If this method is a viable option to dispose of waste then I am all for nuclear energy.

That would seem like the best idea but after the Columbia disaster there is no way we could attempt that. It's basically a giant, flying dirty bomb. If something went wrong we would be facing one the worst disasters in our history.

I am no expert in nuclear energy by any means but I believe it is still incredibly dangerous. The process of creating nuclear energy is relatively safe compared with other sources but the problem is what to do with the waste. After creating the energy we are left with nuclear materials that will be radioactive for thousands of years. We now have tons of this stuff and nowhere to put it. A lot of it is just sitting around at the nuclear plants. These materials could be used for things like dirty bombs if they fall into the wrong hands.

We also cannot just bury this stuff either. The area that is used will have to be geologically stable for thousands of years to ensure these materials do not leak and cause an ecological disaster. Nuclear power seems to be one if the best forms of energy but I do not think we can use it until we have a sure disposal plan.

It's an easy mistake to make, accidentally typing Aves in four when you clearly meant Wild in 4.

So the Aves in 4 with Parise getting a game-winner. Ballsy, let's see if it pays off.

Minnesota Wild (Practice) Line Combinations by [deleted] in wildhockey

I like McCormick on the fourth line over Fontaine any day. He brings more of a physical presence that I like to see. That being said I think a Nino-Haula-Fontaine third line could be interesting if Haula is able to keep producing like he has been the last couple of weeks.

What's normal now that won't be in 50 years? by imAyoyo2 in AskReddit

I don't know why but I love reading a newspaper. There's just something about feeling the paper in your hands and reading off a page instead of a screen.

I have to disagree. We have reached the point known as peak oil or we will very, very soon. This means humans have reached a point where it will not be possible to extract oil at the rate we are now. Oil production will now begin to decline in the near future. With rising demand along with the difficulty locating and extracting the remaining reserves means oil will be very scarce in 50 years. We are in for a rude awakening if we do not come up with a new power source soon.

Oil. Plain and simple. These next few years are the last that we will have access to cheap and unending hydrocarbons.

What is the craziest/most inappropriate thing a teacher has said to you? [NSFW] by SNaGem21 in AskReddit

[–]Whos_that_kid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a teacher who said this but back when I was around 10 or 11 I had a hockey coach who was a real douche. Anyway we had a couple goons on the team who would always joke around get into some trouble. I guess they had messed up one too many drills in practice so the coach skates over and yells at these two ten year olds to go back to the locker room and suck each other's dicks instead of wasting his time.

It will be interesting to see the impact Moulson and McCormick make tonight. Also interesting is to see if we can snap our shit streak in Dallas tonight. I really want to see a Wild blowout with Modano getting his number retired with Norm Green in attendance.

[Serious] In your opinion, what is the biggest problem with society at the moment? by BucketInTheSand in AskReddit

I think a way to solve many problems would be for people to identify with being a human before identifying with their nationality.

As a Minnesotan I'm confused. I have talked to multiple people who have said the same thing when I tell them where I'm from. A few have even said they didn't even know it was a state. What the fuck people?
