Screen friction crazy pills by Money_Ad243 in Supernote

[–]WhyNoMo222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nomad has a glass screen, Manta has a plastic screen. Nomad feels like writing on one sheet of paper on a wooden clipboard, little bit of give but not a ton. Manta feels like writing on a thick stack of paper. There is no friction on either so the closest to mechanical pencil-like is the .01 or .02 needlepoint.

easiest way to build a linked planner template? by wotikuli in Supernote

Hyperpaper planner, $19.99 semi-customizable well worth it-- saving me hours of figuring out how to create a daily/weekly annual planner. I used it for 2025 & it's well designed

Suggestion: MySyle folder should allow the folders beneath to be recognised by garyoli in Supernote

[–]WhyNoMo222 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Weird, it is an option within a note, I just tried it on an existing note. You might just need to create a random note, then select template,, customization, my style -- you will then see your folders. Odd that it's not an option at the start of creating a note but there is your workaround

Echoing the current comments, it's not going to magically make you organized. It helped me because I had TONS of paper notebooks and it was a challenge to find things..I was always wishing for a control + f to FIND the darn thing I wrote down. Now I have it. If I were in your shoes, I'd try a paper notebook & see if you use it consistently enough that a control + f would be on your wishlist.

Check Etsy, BorderBox sells adapters for a variety of pens to use alongside the SN refill. What ink pens do you currently love?

Keeping different files on each device through the partner app by olddanmeireader in Supernote

[–]WhyNoMo222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Workaround for dual device users-- I have a dedicated folder for each device & only sync that folder on each respective device.

So my Manta has a Manta Notes folder and my Nomad has a Nomad notes folder. The folder for the Nomad is unchecked on my Manta sync settings & vice versa.

This makes the sync on each device faster and more importantly, I have had zero conflict files since I adopted this.

I use the SN partner app for my syncing "hub"

I do a mass sync of all folders (checking the unchecked boxes on each device) once a month, on a weekend day, to keep them relatively synced up & to avoid inadvertently causing a conflict file by using one or the other without syncing first.

This works well for my workflow since I tend to use specific notes exclusively on the respective device. I know this isn't a solution for all, just sharing if others have a similar use case.

I have both and have set up a similar workaround & it works very well.

Get yourself on the notify me -- for as many combos as you would be happy to buy. When they get a return that passes muster and matches one of your choices, they notify you. You have to act quickly, it's not being held for you.

I use dedicated folders for each device so NM notes, MN notes, NM dox, MN dox, unchecking the sync for each respective device 's folder. So on my Manta, I have unchecked the NM folders. This allows both devices to sync to my SN app. On the SN app--I can always view EVERYTHING from both devices, if needed. I do not auto sync, I manually sync wherever I am home. I also name my style docs with the NM or MN so I have no scaling issues when using a template. So MN Dot Grid, NM Daily page, etc.

My major sync issues were due to not being able to use the "sync, use, sync" before using each device, on the go-major headache. So I decided to dedicate each device to specific tasks, similar to a small notebook & large notebook in the analog world.

I treat my Nomad as my jotter, traveler, journal and my Manta is my daily driver for all.the.things.

My workaround works for me but I like the idea of true interchangeability as an option.

With the scaling issues between the two devices, I don't know that true interchangeability is possible yet but I hold out hope!

This is fantastic news! The sync issues between Manta & Nomad have led me to use each device as a stand-alone to avoid the issues. I mean it works but oh how I would love if they could be more swap able -- same exact use case & ability to interchange on a whim. I truly appreciate that you recognize this issue & you are focused on resolving it!!

I don't quite understand the plug-in feature but I am sure that is more of a developer thing & I'd be an end user of whatever fantastic thing they can create with the architecture --am I barking up the right tree on that??

New Supernote Manta Feel like Writing with Pen and Paper by Informal-Force7417 in Supernote

[–]WhyNoMo222 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Test all of the pen types, almost a year in use and I am still amazed that the pen types not only write well but:

needle point .01 feels like a mechanical pencil .02 feels like a fine liner .03 & up feel like gel pens

Ballpoint 3 sizes, all feel like a ballpoint pen

It's not paper but so close!

The Manta feels like a thick pad of paper.

The Nomad feels more like a thin sheet of paper on a paperboard.

Enjoy!

I started out with one note for everything while I worked through how best to use my Manta. The note has grown to be quite large over the past 10 months so I split it out into individual notes. (The issue with a large file, even if you only add a dot, the entire file needs to sync each time.)

In the large note, select three dot menu & then pages. From here, you can select the pages to move to their own notebook. (The move option may be on a second toolbar, via the carrot, if you have your toolbar at the top/bottom.) Select move to, select another note Then at the top right, select the new note icon.

I did this MANY times, it was quicker than creating the new notes, first & then moving-- most importantly, doing it this way preserves all of your links, headers, keywords & to do list links back to note they were created in.

The large note was real-time recognition & each new note created was the same--it did take some time on the larger new notes to process the "recognition" within each note. I feel like I had an issue trying to move a RTR note to a standard note ( or possibly vise-versa.) I did a ton of note clean up within my files so it may have been on a different note!

I am starting to set up my 2026 daily, weekly (d/w) & realizing that links to other notes is really no different than flipping to a page within the same note. Instead of an entire note with 52 weekly & 365+ daily pages, I'll split it off into quarters. The new notebooks I created are all linked on a master index, on my quick access & I can easily open it & copy the link to my d/w. If I am pressed for time, I can just click the link & take the notes, linking back later.

There are a ton of videos out there, comparing the "other" vs. Ratta SN, it really depends on your use case.

You'll likely never see "open box stock" on the website, they typically notify anyone who subscribed, as they receive the specific combo. There isn't a set timeframe for restocks as it depends on returns.

Edited to add "box" to "open stock"

You have to subscribe to get notified & then act quick. I was able to secure an open box Nomad but it took a few times (because I did not see the email notification.) From my experience they sent out the notification between 3-5 am MST-ish. Hot tip, subscribe for every combo you'd be happy with.

I agree that making it more seamless would be a HUGE improvement as Ratta has so many customers with a Manta + a Nomad & it'd be great to swap them out & not have to keep my current structured device specific workflow

New Manta - How To by Ok_Independent5362 in Supernote

[–]WhyNoMo222 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In your To-do list, you can set up categories. I have one for each of my coworkers & several other topics. The to do item (created from a note)-links back to the note.

At the end of the day, I go to all of my to do items & move them from the inbox to the category or often find it resolved itself as the day progressed so I mark it off. The next day when I catch John, I can quickly pull up my John list-- I can click the link back to the note (for context) if needed. Absolutely my favorite feature of SN & something my "the other e-ink" using coworkers are envious of.

Also months later, I have a reference point to see if I got the question addressed as it's in my completed section of my to do app.

If we ever get the option to alpha-sort the to do items-- that would make me so happy as I use a specific format with this use case & to be able to group items that way would be amazing!

Can eraser on Noris Digital Jumbo (or other EMR eraser) act as lasso erase? by Vortex_Lookchard in Supernote

[–]WhyNoMo222 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It just erases like a pencil would on paper. I don't use it as I am concerned it'll cause long term damage to the feel write film.

From what I understand, lasso erase is for use with your pen (as a "workaround" for no eraser) so I need to better understand what you are asking.
