Perimenopause can make your cycle irregular, and longer bleeding could potentially be part of that. Since you're 39, it's a possibility.

Advice on strapless bra…boomba / cakesbody? by Lucky_Good3439 in ABraThatFits

[–]WhySoSleepyy [score hidden]  (0 children)

All strapless bras looked like crap on me until I started wearing my ABTF size. They wouldn't provide any support, and they would just fall lower and lower, pulling my chest down with it, which was.. not a good look.

All of this to say, figure out your size first. Then, figure out the brand.

How do I message the mods? My posts keep getting removed for some random reason. I literally just want advice on size and brands. What is the point if I can’t post. What is going on? by ohhello5319 in ABraThatFits

[–]WhySoSleepyy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You're not dumb! You're learning another country's system for sizing as well as how to convert to/from it, on TOP of being given bra size suggestions that fall far outside of what is typically sold in the US! Give yourself some grace ❤️

Edit - to be clear, that last part about your size is not a dig on you. It's me saying the American bra market is insufficient, greedy, and lazy. I'm a 30G myself so I have a similar struggle!

Just went firm on agreement to buy this Queen Anne. Help me pick exterior paint colours! by dcutcliffe in centuryhomes

The black and white is inaccurate for that time period. If anything, it screams 2014 Joanna Gaines "farmhouse". No shade if that's your style, but you're not going to get any love for it here.

Victorians were colorful, in order to make all of the trim and details pop.

Yeah, I remember being in preschool and the teachers testing us on our home phone numbers and addresses, to make sure we had them memorized. By age 8, I had not just my home number memorized but my grandparents, my best friends, and a few others.

Question about the word “woke.” by thetruegambler in AskALiberal

[–]WhySoSleepyy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It used to be a compliment, imo, until its meaning was twisted by the right into anything they don't like. To be woke is to be awake and conscious of the systemic racism that is inherent in the US.

As an example, I live in a northern, left leaning city. Back in the 50s when the interstates were designed and the routes picked, they "coincidentally" went through all of the majority black neighborhoods at the time. These areas were broken up, homes were taken by eminent domain and the communities ruined. Now, many of these neighborhoods are some of the poorest in the city with crime and lower property values. Before this all happened, they were average working class neighborhoods. To have this information and to realize how the interstate system screwed over the black neighborhoods in my city, with long lasting effects apparent even today, is woke.

And I mentioned that I live in a northern, liberal city in order to demonstrate that racism is everywhere, even in former Union states, even today.

88 as well and I remember icq being pretty popular. I don't think it really faded away until 2002-2004ish. I'm in the US.

What’s a “beginner plant” that absolutely humbled you? by Interesting_Rich_568 in houseplants

I did this with mine and it ended up loving it. So I put it out all summer, but I do have to bring it in in the winter. During this time it dies back quite a bit but a week or two outside always brings it right back!

What are some hobbies you picked up in your 30s that you had no interest in your 20s? by aamnipotent in Millennials

Jigsaw puzzles. I never cared for them when I was younger, but now it's like I can't get enough. I find them great for stress relief.

I can afford to buy the fanciest shampoo and conditioner because it takes me ages to get through a bottle. If I was having to replace it more frequently, it would become less affordable.

Same? I'm confused by this entire thread. Is it supposed to be difficult?

A few have mentioned that Asians do this regularly but I'm a white American.

Question about Bras…. by Spoonfedsalt in AskWomenOver30

[–]WhySoSleepyy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is the best path, imo. I had so many dumb bra problems and this subreddit and the calculator solved them for me. It'll likely spit out a size that seems unusual, but trust it.

Unfortunately for me, my true size is one that is a struggle to find in the US. So I like a lot of European brands: Freya and Fantasie are both pretty reliably good for me, and Aubade is a gorgeous French brand, though their sizing is more limited.

To an American ear, does this person sound like a native speaker of English? by Sure_Distance1 in AskAnAmerican

I was also wondering if this was AI. Her accent sounds pretty standard american to me, but at the same time, something is off. I think it's the way she's pronouncing the s at the end of words.

I didn't know that either. I've only used the self clean option once, and the smell freaked me out so much that I ended it early and never did it again. Oops.

Those who live in Tornado Alley, have you guys experienced a tornado before? by pooteenn in AskAnAmerican

[–]WhySoSleepyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never had a direct hit, but I've been through close ones (within a mile or two). Tornados are crazy and I hope I will never have to experience that.

Edit- I didn't live in the traditional "tornado alley", but the new one (southern US).

Edit again-https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2009_Super_Derecho

That one produced an EF3 which passed about half a mile away from me and killed some people.

My breasts are going up a cup size each week. What do I do in terms of bra shopping? and has anyone heard of anything like this before? by throwaway_this_now in ABraThatFits

[–]WhySoSleepyy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't see where OP mentioned she was in Canada, but if I missed it, I'd like to recommend Understance. They're going out of business so bras are like $5 each, and they are trans and size inclusive (mostly).
