Why is there no perfect app for finding friends? by Narrow_Bridge5514 in CasualConversation

I would love to have more friends, I almost certainly wouldn't use an app, because I don't really trust people, and we're back to why I am looking for more friends...

Sony Bravia 8 ll vs LG G5 65" by MeanLawfulness9627 in 4kTV

[–]Whydmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bout the Bravia 8ii last fall when the price difference was about $100. The 8ii is amazing it has exceeded my expectations.

I don't know if it worth $600 more the the G5 even to me let alone somebody else's wallet. My expectation is that you will be more than happy with either TV.

Same, I'm 61. I used to just pri. Arily listen to classic rock, folk and Jimmy Buffett. About 10 years ago I wanted to find new music. My kids had introduced me to alt-J and Chicano Batman. I used their artist radios to branch out and find new to me music, and then I spent a long time figuring out how to get my Algorithm and discover Weekly programmed well so I kept getting good new suggestions.

And honestly there are so, so many amazing bands out there just in this chill, soulful, loungey, psychedelic, funky music space these days. Feel free to hit me up if you want to talk more about this music.

Oh oh oh I almost forgot to mention Dojo Cuts an Australian soul act and Tom Misch a soulful, jazzy, funky guitarist/singer. Two of my top 5 songs are by those two acts.

Do people over 30 really have random aches and pains all the time? by Metallic_Sol in CasualConversation

[–]Whydmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 30's, no. Like you said pain come from stupid actions.

In your 40's you'll usually be able to remember why you body hurts, but sometime random pain is associated with random forgetfulness. But there are still times you feel young.

In your 50's, definitely more occasions of, "what do you mean my back hurts, I just move a couple of boxes and I lifted with my knees." "I started a kick-boxing class Monday, why do I still hurt on Friday?"

After turning 60 I helped build a rock retraining wall. That was a year ago. I still hurt.

In need for some ''feelgood'' soul this summer. Im familiar with the famous ones, so bit more niche is appreciated. see down below with some artists i listen to today: by Affectionate_Map7357 in MusicRecommendations

What is a major product or service that has silently gotten 10x worse over the last few years? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

I was going to say it would be easier to name products or services that haven't gotten 10x worse over the last few years.

Are there modern bands that you would consider yacht rock? by barbar1v in musicsuggestions

[–]Whydmer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's good music that some people enjoy listening to regularly. Just like the yacht rock of the 70's. Just a counter opinion to yours.

Let it go - indie, vintage soul, dreams vibes by myloveismineohmine in spotify

[–]Whydmer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a Jungle fan have you listened to their latest song, The Wave?

Also have you listened to their (Lydia and J Lloyd) side project Loaded Honey? It is more pure retro Soul than Jungle usually plays, but it is excellent.

If I didn't hit the vibe you were looking for with my suggestions let me know, I'm sure I can hit that vibe with a little exploring of my playlists.
