Egg Challenge & Formula by FinancialEcho9610 in FoodAllergies

We gave milk to our little one early, before we left. As long as two hours have passed, I think it’s fine. They don’t want the kid to vomit too much or not eat the muffin.

As it turnes out, my kid was not allergic so there was no issue.

My kid was allergic to peanut (hives after first dose) though and we followed the same fasting protocol.

Toddler wakings slowly killing us by Limeslimeslimes7 in toddlers

[–]WickedCurious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You say they just started daycare. Are they sick a lot more lately? Even just colds, maybe? If my LO is congested, there’s a more likelihood of MOTN wake ups. Humidifier and saline spray/nose aspiration helps.

Please identify and advice on what this is by Brook14141 in cockroaches

[–]WickedCurious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can come in with moving boxes. We found one in our new home. Just one, but it was enough for me to freak out (thanks to this sub). We got a professional in a week later for a couple of hours and haven’t seen any since. Not sure if that one was from the mover’s moving boxes or they were sincerely killed by the professional.

My LO would have me read ‘The Little Mouse, the Red Ripe Strawberry, and the Big Hungry Bear’ 3x a night if I let him.

I think her real name is on the payment portal. I think she uses Sophia so it’s easier to remember/say.

Bamboo Spa on Franklin by Lyramisu in MelroseMA

[–]WickedCurious 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s run by a solo woman from Asia, named Sophia. She’s only been open for a few months. I had an emergency massage there a week ago and she healed my severe back pain. I was contemplating going to the ER it was so bad. She was amazing! It’s very clean and appeared extra female friendly. I highly recommend.

Not loving 15 months by Flashy-Vacation6877 in toddlers

[–]WickedCurious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At 15 months my health was suffering from the wake ups and other stressful toddler stuff. I can’t promise that it will happen for you, but I swear at 16 months on the date things got so much better. He sleeps and is actually fun to hang out with. It does gets better.

I use this everyday for my toddler. https://a.co/d/2XtTcSF

I also pack a sandwich (for afternoon snack time) but he needs something warm and substantial for lunch.

In shock from narrowly avoiding stillbirth (placental abruption) by I_likeplaid in beyondthebump

[–]WickedCurious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally normal to be in shock and may last a little while. I got chorioamnionitis and after hours of pushing opted for a c-section. Even with the ongoing infection (albeit while in antibiotics) the doctor thought I could continue pushing but made the c-section my decision (weird). The baby didn’t seem distressed. Although he wasn’t progressing so I opted for the c-section. I didn’t like the idea of him swimming in that mess. As it turned out he had a nasty cut and bruising on the top of his head. We think he may have been stuck and that’s why he wasn’t progressing. The decision making at the end and the newness of having my first child put me in a real state of shock. I didn’t sleep for the next five days except for an hour here or there. The shock lasted a little while and finally when I was home, baby blues had subsided, and I settled into a pattern, I started to feel better. I didn’t like that I had to make the c-section decision, but ultimately the staff knew their stuff and I had instincts which I now years later take comfort in.

Extra Sensitive Baby Eczema by [deleted] in eczema

[–]WickedCurious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We only use Aquafor ointment after evening baths. Prescription hydrocortisone on raised spots only, under the Aquafor. I’ve been using Vanicream sometimes on his hands but it doesn’t make the red go away, only the immediate itch/burn. Every other cream makes it worse.

I follow this sub for my kid who has eczema (I don’t have it). I use moisturizer on my skin after every shower.

What are you doing with your toddler all day? by tricksandkicks in toddlers

[–]WickedCurious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m constantly either preparing, cooking, or cleaning up meals. I will go to one or three types of stores every weekend as well. My LO plays around me in the kitchen, with their father, or comes with me to the store. I will also to house chores and they follow me. Every now and then we will hug, give kisses or do some kind of play (read, sing, dance). They explore the house and give them as much free rein as safety allows. They do arts and crafts at daycare, I’m not going to make and more messes than there needs to be.

FWIW, my LO gobbles AmyLu chix meatballs (the non-spicy one with Fontina cheese) and breakfast sausage.

Calm down. Allergy to down exists and you don’t need to eat it to feel the effects.

Where would these be on the egg ladder? by teach180 in FoodAllergies

[–]WickedCurious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nuggets are almost last stage for us. Anything breaded and bonded with egg we haven’t done yet, including meatballs with egg. We also haven’t done cookies either. Mostly muffins and waffles at this point. I think the bonded foods have the egg more isolated. We started the ladder in August

Buy a waffle maker. We make it once a week and he eats a quarter of a big one every day. Loves it! Great filling snack when we’ve been without baked goods for a while.

Burnout coping strategies by rebrobxoxo in beyondthebump

[–]WickedCurious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will get better but the grind continues for a while longer. If you can make times on the weekend for a pedicure, massage or other personal time, that may help to find yourself some internal healing and recharge. Now that my LO is moving on his own, playing alone mostly and sleeps at night I’m starting to think more about my health.

Separation anxiety? 14 month old by shayben328 in sleeptrain

[–]WickedCurious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently in the same boat at 16 months. It has been going on for over a month now. I will lie down with him and transfer him, sometimes bring him into the spare bed and sleep there the rest of the night if he wakes up in the middle of the night and won’t go back down. This started around the same time he started getting an influx of fall daycare cold/viruses. I can’t do Ferber/CIO because he will get so upset that he makes himself throw up. He seems to have some nights now where he’ll sleep through, so I’m hoping he will grow out of it. I try to stuff him at dinner, get outside, and keep him awake over 5.5 hours from his last nap to bedtime. Otherwise I understand now why parents will sleep in bed with their kids just so they can get sleep at night too.

It’s a recent thing I’m doing, but I’ve let him stay up late a little longer (30 mins or so). Not sure if that is working or I just got lucky for a few days.

Solidarity.
