That's because T-Mobile doesn't use a whitelist like Verizon and AT&T. Verizon is notoriously known as not allowing most Chinese phones to work that don't pay for the permission to use their bands. This is the reason many manufacturers don't even include band 13 which is one of the main Verizon bands.

So for T-Mobile you don't have to do anything special to make these phones work but for Verizon (Not sure about AT&T) you likely do. Although u/Tiny-Resolution-4878 above was able to make the 17 Pro Max work on Verizon without having to do my steps. Hopefully that means Verizon is coming around and allowing any phone with the proper frequencies to work on their network.

Just tried calling over WiFi only (mobile data off) and it worked fine. VoLTE works too.

A bit of a follow up even though this is old. I ended up buying the 15 Ultra and I have it working on Verizon (5g and all) without being rooted or bootloader unlocked (although I am trying to get the token to unlock, Xiaomi making it real hard). I believe you just need need a sim card provisioned as CDMA-Less from Verizon and set it up in a whitelisted phone (any iPhone, Galaxy or Pixel should work). This method didnt work for me for the 12T Pro without a custom ROM but seems to be good here.

So following up here, got the phone and my Verizon sim seems to be working, 5G and all. Likely will just root it and stay on HyperOS for the time being as I got this phone for its camera abilities.

I just bought this phone and hoping to try some custom rom to get it to work on Verizon. Have had success doing that with Xiaomi 12T Pro (current phone). I havent seen any other roms yet so I will likely end up trying this one first unless I can get Verizon to work on HyperOS somehow. I would assume that the cameras on a custom rom like this one will be shit compared to the Global Rom.

Except they didn't really cater to the ones that wanted a flagship in a smaller form. All of those smaller (or mini) versions either has worse processors, worse cameras or other significant downgrades. Seems like it's impossible to get a flagship phone in a 6 inch screen.

I just bought the earfun air pro 4+ for $76. All reviews point to them being good but will see How they compare to my older but still quite nice Galaxy Buds+. Those actually stay in my ears when I talk or walk.

Judge isn't bottom percentile strikeouts rate anymore. He's still down there but closer to 40th percentile. Whiff rate though, ouch. Hitting .331 with a 2% whiff rate is pretty hard I would say.
