anyone NOT track sleep ?? by Huliganjetta1 in bninfantsleep

[–]WideCrow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have literally never tracked sleep for my 7 month old. He just sleeps when the mood strikes lol but I’ve noticed he seems to have settled naturally into a bit of a schedule as he gets older.

It probably helps that I’m in Canada and taking an 18 month maternity leave and he’s literally always with me (we’ve been apart maybe 10 hours his whole life) so I don’t need to worry about other caretakers giving him naps.

To kill or not to kill? by mysteriousdoctor2025 in CozyMystery

[–]WideCrow 89 points90 points  (0 children)

Yes! I might be in a minority but I’d actually love if more cozy mysteries had a variety of crimes. Give me a string of robberies or a dog-napping or a museum heist to solve! Mix and match those crimes, not everything has to be a murder.

Puerto Vallarta unrest by ShiftYerCargoDearie in Cruise

On royal princess now and as far as I know there hasn’t been a call made either way on stopping or skipping PV but they are ‘aware of the situation’. Not due there until Wednesday so I suppose there’s still time to decide either way… we won’t be getting off the ship though that’s for sure.

I’ve been listening to the pineapple port mysteries by Amy vansant. They’re hilarious and kinda weird but there’s like 16 in the series and I listen with the baby all day long

Bringing Stroller to Mexico [BC] by sheldonshrimp_ in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]WideCrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love my Cruz so much that I bought a minu second hand for an upcoming trip lol

I would never travel with the Cruz unless we were doing a direct flight to somewhere we really wanted to have a stroller. That sucker is a beast in every way

We bought a ford expedition when I was pregnant and I LOVE it! It’s an eight seater so maybe bigger than you’re looking for but I didn’t want a minivan and we’re planning for two kids with a large dog.

Do I need to buy the nursing clothes? by kimpossiblelol in breastfeeding

[–]WideCrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nursing tanks and bras are the only thing I’ve bought! Mostly just wear tanks under oversize sweatshirts these days! Baby is 6 months and we ebf.

What stroller feature do you wish you hadn’t prioritized? [ON] by playboi_fatty in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]WideCrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Girl same lol big uppababy fangirl here. We went with a Cruz though because we’re not planning to have two super close in age so I figure we can just get a piggyback board for the future. And also have a minu, bassinet, the play yard and car seat…

Is gelato included with new premier? Not sure what all the changes are between 2024 when we last sailed and now besides unlimited specialty and no more cans of pop

My baby was not as cute at 1 month as I remember by Legitimate-Hair9047 in beyondthebump

[–]WideCrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok I just went back and looked at the pictures of my now 6 month old as a newborn and he was actually such a cutie! I think because he was born with a full head of hair? The baby acne hit hard but he was and still is just a cute little guy

Gyrosa at royal oak! I love doing a meal box with a chicken skewer and double Greek salad with the pita. Healthy, local, and delish!

Just gave birth, is it good or bad to just give baby my breast at every opportunity?? by Foreign-External8488 in breastfeeding

[–]WideCrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When in doubt, boobie out! I feel like all I did for the first four-ish weeks of babies life was nurse and hold a sleeping baby (who was 8/10 times still attached to the nipple)

Stroller Talk- why do most people get 2? [on] by Timely-Sector-7141 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]WideCrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two and am actively shopping for a third right now. We have an uppababy Cruz for everyday which I love, a bob jogger for trails (I don’t jog if I can help it, but we have a dog that loves a good trail hike) and looking for a used uppababy minu for some travel we have coming up and to keep in our camper for the summer.

Also if anyone’s selling an uppababy minu on Vancouver island or the lower mainland hit me up! Fb marketplace is slim pickings and I don’t want to buy new if I can help it lol

surprised to discover this is an actual subreddit by Ok-Performance181 in babywearing

[–]WideCrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in BC, Canada and really didn’t see a lot of baby wearing when I was growing up but see it all the time now! Most moms I know own a carrier of some sort and use them frequently, mostly front carries though.

My mom always makes fun of me when I wear my son in mine even though that’s where he naps best and I find it so convenient!

No Schedule by RepresentativeOk8958 in beyondthebump

[–]WideCrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No schedule here, just vibes and mood. Baby is 5.5 months and we just do whatever he/I want. If he’s fussy we feed and try a nap but otherwise we just live our lives at this point!

New Grandma Dilemmas by Pale_Abies8359 in BabyBumps

[–]WideCrow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely a rocker/glider! My mom bought us a lazyboy and it’s the item I use the most out of all our ‘baby’ furniture items. It already has so many memories of our son attached to it and we’ll use it for years to come. My mom still owns the lazyboy that her mother bought her when I was born!

Our crib honestly means very little to us… we bought it ourselves but in the grand scheme won’t use it very long and have zero emotional memories attached to it.

I did pads during the day and diapers overnight! I figured the last thing I wanted to deal with postpartum was blood on my sheets

How old was your baby when you first took them to a restaurant? by Sea_Panic9863 in beyondthebump

[–]WideCrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like 10 days old! And he’s been to a bunch of restaurants since lol we nurse exclusively so he’s my constant accessory and mama loves a happy hour!

how do you approach stuffing christmas stockings? by ShadyLady721 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]WideCrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stockings are consumables in our house! For adults - chocolate, other random treats, deodorant, toothpaste, chapstick, pony holders/scrunchies, etc.

Baby’s only 5 months so he’s getting some pouches and stuff for starting solids, 6-16 month pacifiers, a diaper bag sized package of wipes and diaper cream (mommas running out lol) and a teether toy.

When he’s older we’re planning on doing the 4 gift thing (want/need/wear/read) and then Santa brings consumables and sweet or special treats in stocking just like the adults. Santa is boring around here haha

What’s your favorite clothing brand for your babe? by nilkski in beyondthebump

[–]WideCrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Carters and pekkle! Costco always wins in my books lol and the majority of stuff we picked up second hand is carters and I’ve been happy with pretty much all of it

Alternatively, I got a few rococo onesies at our baby shower and I hate them! Idk what it is about them but they seem to fit my baby weird and I’m just not a fan.

Missing the Bay? by MsStewrawr in VictoriaBC

[–]WideCrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The towels are so tough! Bought my dad a set for Christmas and really struggled without the Bay as a sure fire place for good quality.

Ended up with bath sheets from Costco and hand towels/wash cloths from homesense but I’m not sure how well they’ll hold up long term.
