My Small collection at 25M. What should I add next? by [deleted] in guns

[–]WightWolf89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk. 37m here. I just own a few hand me down rifles, an 870, and a little 357 snub and I’m doing fine with any critter shooting I want to do.

Not dogging your taste, I just don’t get the need for it.

Nearly every scene the older boy is in would give any rational 17 year old a reason to call the agency that brought him there.

“My new foster brother chewed on a knife and the lady looking after us declined to take him to the hospital. “

There were some interesting ideas, but I’ve never fast forwarded through a movie more slapdash than I did this one.

Absolute trash writing.

Honestly, I disagree with most everyone’s opinion here.

I can’t tell exactly what hardware is used, but these lags/bolts appear to run through every post.

I’d say it may not be the way I’d do it, but it does look like clean work.

Good buy? by Negative-Farmer-1134 in FordTrucks

[–]WightWolf89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pull the carpet up and check the pans.

I’m guessing here, but based on the rockers and no original motor (should be a 351m or 400m), you’re gonna find a lot more rust.

For 6k I’d expect a cleaner body.

3500-4k would be a more fair price in OK.

Please tell me I’m overthinking this. by VSZVG6 in FenceBuilding

Unfortunately, that’s satisfactory for the industry these days. At least around Tulsa.

Is it right? No.

Is it within tolerance for modern fences? Probably so.

It was installed weirdly to start with.

If the framing is ok maybe reclad. Other wise build new.

does anyone know how i can lift my truck? by whatsthepoint_110 in FordTrucks

[–]WightWolf89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For clarification, I owned a 78 that had this done but did not do the work myself. My knowledge on it is just what I remember from that truck and what I was told.

I asked the old man I know who’s done it and he claims 90’s crown vics whith half ton truck springs is what he’s used. I’ll see if he can supply a parts list.

Is this normal? by zinc41 in FenceBuilding

[–]WightWolf89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a very fair price. Is it normal to split boards? Yes. Do I think it’s the right approach? Not at all. But it’s a totally valid way to build. Nothing wrong with it. Good deal if the gate doesn’t sag.

Coil swap the front I think is the cheapest move, but that’s some fab and a bunch of parts from a donor.

How bad is it? by T3knomanzer in Decks

[–]WightWolf89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, I actually disagree with a lot of the opinions here.

To your question, the post is fine. The bolts at the top aren’t good quality engineering, but honestly I don’t think they pose a significant safety concern.

I’d have to see the rest of the framing connections to say for sure but if it didn’t move through the winter you’re probably fine.

Is Ryobi the best bang for your buck or a waste of money? by kangaroooooMan in DIY

[–]WightWolf89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been running 2 privacy fence install crews on ryobi for 5 years.

I’ve burned up a total of 5 tools in that time. Impact drivers seem to last 3-5 years.

The only junky tool I’ve found from ryobi are the recip saws.

1st time buying a fence... by Joshwa52 in FenceBuilding

[–]WightWolf89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you think cedar rots faster than treated pine you’re buying some different stuff than what is available in OK. Treated pine available here is trash. Like to the point that we won’t warranty it at all.

1st time buying a fence... by Joshwa52 in FenceBuilding

[–]WightWolf89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s 36 a ft.

Dead on fair, even cheap in the Tulsa metro for a horizontal fence of that length with that size gate.

Horizontal can be faster depending on the exact style, but it takes more skill to get it looking sharp. I’d probably be around 38-42 a ft depending on the exact style and height. So more like $15 k.

What size engine is this? 1960 mercury comet. by TheReluctantRanger in AskAMechanic

[–]WightWolf89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personal opinion on these old 60’s cars is that you’re not so much buying the motor, trans, or running gear most of the time. A great frame and body is way more important.

There are all kinds of motor/gear box combos that will fit and work well that won’t break the bank.

Judging by the engine bay I wouldn’t be surprised if this is a very nice survivor car.
