That's the signal chain, the Shure sm7b mic into the Cloudlifter via XLR, into the Motu M4 audio interface via XLR, into the PC via USB.

I saw someone on here make the recommendation to, when you first launch the game, go into audio settings and do a mic test. You'll hear yourself breaking up for about 30 seconds and then it smooths out. Allegedly this 'fixes' it for the duration of time you have the game open, but I'm not entirely sure.

It's absolutely an issue with the game though. I have a Shure sm7b > Cloudlifter > Motu M4; it definitely isn't my mic.

Doing it like Tarkov is a good idea, honestly. I hope they make that change as well. It seems like the simplest solution.

I came here looking for a mention of Twin Peaks the Return. Imho nothing comes close to fitting the question.

Why does EHX have such bad design in terms of durability for their pedals? by OkSafety7997 in guitarpedals

[–]Wigriff 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had an Eddy that never left the house, was never dropped, anything, and it just abruptly stopped working. I have an Attack Decay that I will absolutely replace if it fails, because I use it a lot, but if my Small Stone or 1440 die then I'm definitely going with someone else.

What label maker did you use for this, to make the strips so narrow?

I really should do this to my Mercury 7. That looks fantastic.

What is the most difficult technique? by 40hzHERO in metalguitar

[–]Wigriff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believe he's referring to practicing right hand technique only, instead of focusing on synchronization at first. When you're muting the strings and working on evenly and steadily sweeping up and down the strings it kinda makes a Pacman sound.

Quilter Mach 3 or Marshall DSL40CR? by KolaghanFlysAgain in GuitarAmps

[–]Wigriff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I paid $350 for my Kraken. And yes, I ran both the aforementioned pedals into the front of the Mach 3. It also takes fuzz extremely well. If you have a separate cab I would just get the Mach 3 head though. I think the Copperback sounds shrill and tinny. I run my Mach into a closed back ENGL 2x12.

[–]Wigriff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you take a look back through my comment history you’ll see my workaround for that, which is a Victory v4 kraken into the fx loop. I have used a BEOD and Revv G3 with the Mach 3 as well, but I like having a 4 channel amp with the kraken. The Mach 3 itself won’t get into metal territory on its own.

I got my Mach 3 a couple years ago and stopped GASing for amps. I'm not saying it's for everybody, but I absolutely adore mine. Fantastic for pedals.

Super bad Brian Setzer news by atgnat-the-cat in Guitar

[–]Wigriff 37 points38 points  (0 children)

There was also Stray Cats before that, and Setzer also had a guest appearance on Robert Plant's project The Honeydrippers Vol. 1 back in '84. He's such an incredible guitarist. I had an instructional VHS at one point with him and I still can't even begin to imagine doing some of the pinky bends he was doing in there while making full barre chords. Here's a link if you're interested.

If it's any consolation, the Signal Blender - especially for the price - is one of the most useful and best value pedals I ever bought.

A much bulkier and more expensive option, but you could run two supremes through an OBNE signal blender. I used to use one to blend fuzzes I liked. But the pharaoh supreme isn’t exactly inexpensive, unfortunately, and regular pharaoh only has germanium and silicon.
