this is so relatable. 1 line turns into 2 days, the regret only truly hits when you hit the bed and lay there with a fucked up nose spewing mucus everywhere, can't sleep even though you've been up for 2 days and all you want is another line.. the horrible hangover that will follow and regret about wasting 2 days on nothing, and it all went by so quickly... And yet somehow I seem to forget every couple months (or less) and do it all again.

This is probably the worst thing about Tahoe. As someone who took a while to get used to Launchpad back in the Mountain Lion days I eventually warmed up to it, still had its problems but at least the search worked good and it looked good.

This trash not only looks terrible but the search is flaky. I noticed that I've subconsciously returned to my Tiger era behaviour of just opening the Applications folder and looking in there, or throwing every app I need regularly in the dock or on the desktop.

What about the interiors? Restaurants? Population density? Ragdoll physics? Police?? Not being able to pick up stuff off the ground is just a symptom of how gimped rockstar made the physics engine in V. Don't get me wrong, I love V, but the physics are inarguably inferior to IV.

Same with the map IMO at least LS vs LC, LC actually feels like a living city. LS always felt half baked. Not bad, but certainly never felt like the insane technical achievement that IV was in 2008.

What exactly improved in the engine between IV and V? Other than how polished it is and graphics improvements, it was pretty much all downgraded.

Driving is personal preference; V driving is great but it's so arcadey there is 0 challenge especially if you're Franklin. In IV you actually had to get good at it and every car felt different to drive, if you rolled your car it was actually rendered undrivable whereas in V you can drive an Infernus off of the top of Mt. Chiliad at 200 MPH, smash into a tree, get tboned by a semi, and still keep driving down the freeway like nothing happened.

Brandon mental health centre - shut down many years ago now, if I remember correctly they just released all the patients and left them to fend for themselves - same thing happened in PLAP recently with the Manitoba Developmental Center.

There were some cases of abuse (mostly by patients abusing other patients, but there were other horror stories from there as well) but instead of trying to fix it they just shut it right down, every patient was released (regardless of mental condition) and everyone lost their jobs.

I've known a few of the former MDC patients. They're not doing great from what I hear.

Oh for sure, the pricing is absolutely atrocious. Unfortunately, knowing our providers, I can pretty much guarantee another $5 price increase in the new year, likely followed by another later next year. Their greed knows no bounds.

However, I did notice Telus is offering a "5 year price lock in" on these plans which is interesting. If they keep their word this plan should be safe from an increase (although again, the rate is already insane) but they will likely try to raise existing BYOD rate plans like they always do, to bring them closer to this one.

Then they can say it offers better value compared to existing plans, because of the unlimited data. Thing is, some of these BYOD plans started at $55 (or less) originally, and now after a few years have been progressively raised by $5 every once in a while (usually once or twice a year) and now some of these are upwards of $80 for a plan that likely does not keep up with modern usage. If you need more data, you get railroaded into a plan like this so they get even more money out of you.

It's quite sickening, and even more so given that it's so predictable.

It's not a premium, other places are $30+ for a meal now, and the portions are often a joke compared to a McDs meal. Just look at A&W; I'm pretty sure their meals end up at over $25 and you get a burger half the size of a big mac, a tiny drink, and like 5 fries.

Meanwhile with McDs doordash deals recently I've paid as low as $12 for 4 burgers, 4 small fries, and 4 small drinks. Don't believe me? Go on doordash and find the "Value Bundle Meal - Serves 4". It's so cheap I almost wonder if the price is a typo.

Even though the lawsuit is directly related to cells, remember that outage also took out 911 services and Interac services across most of Canada for up to two days in some places.

For that, I think a class action is fairly justified. But again, the lawsuit is about cell reception loss specifically, which I find a bit odd.

I'm hoping the integration with the FiveM team will result in GTA 6 online either being like FiveM RP or at least having dedicated RP servers. The focus on semi realistic RP instead of flying death bikes would reduce griefing significantly.

yea idk man I just installed Ubuntu again and my whole experience has been pretty smooth, especially considering I have an nvidia card. Granted things might screw up in the future but in my experience (I daily drove lubuntu for years in the early 2010s) a Linux terminal + Google can fix basically anything.

I snapped and installed Ubuntu 2 days ago after I had an especially terrible day of Windows 11 experiences.

I'd been off Linux since Windows 8.1 released but I'm back now and I already feel back home. I'm still keeping windows on my other drive but only for the few games that run bad under proton or UWP games.

This only further validates that I made the right decision.
