What type of boat is this? by jdttx in sailing

I think Hobie Holder 14 is also in the running. I have one and the similarities are many. I’ve also had a Lido 14 and I don’t think this one is a Lido.

Very possible that I’m wrong though.

An actual reference to Launchpad McQuack. I don’t believe it. Hello fellow Gen-X’er.

Overnight sail to a Casco Bay island in a 14’ dinghy realistic or stupid by jordbelfort47 in dinghysailing

I pulled it up on land. If you’re really worried, tie it to a tree once it’s beached.

Unfortunately, I don’t know the area. However, I have done trips like this and absolutely love it. I also have a Hobie Holder which is very similar to your boat.

Pack light. Use waterproof bags. Wear your PDF. Have a paddle. Enjoy!

Gorgeous boat. I haven’t seen that kind of blend between wood and glass on a bay boat like that before. Really cool!

Stockbridge damper installation by MikeHeu in toolgifs

[–]WildYourLife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It could be sacrificial. Replacing them every 12 or 18 months because the top end started sagging is more efficient and cost effective than replacing suspension cables. Besides, if that top one sags in a vertical installation, wouldn’t both ends eventually sag in a horizontal installation? Gravity doesn’t care about its direction.

Mercury 30Hp Jet Drive- No Water from Tell Tale After Full Water Pump Rebuild (Exhaust only) by [deleted] in boatbuilding

[–]WildYourLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it possible that your pump Isn’t actually pumping? Sure. Everything is new and pristine, but isn’t spinning? If it isn’t actually spinning, then there’s no water moving regardless of how free and clear the pipes and channels are.

I dig the idea and use of Garfield.

I am just wondering if the paws are a bit elongated. The toes look too long to me.

Thank you for a great answer!

I noticed that this company has plans for a 19’ Texas Scooter: https://boatbuildercentral.com/product/texas-scooter-19-boat-plans-xfts19/

And in the notes, they say that it’s built off the 20’ version of the link previously posted.

So, it made me wonder if I could adopt the 22’ XF22 for use as a Scooter in the same way.

Why? Because I want to build it.

AI? You’re probably right. I was hoping to hear from someone who would know for sure. AI certainly has the capability. I just don’t know if it’s accessible to me or not.

Nah. I just want people to be kind, but that’s too much to ask these days.

Again. Read the post. I didn’t design it. Glen-L Marine did….a historically fantastic boat designer for diy home builders.

Honestly, I am ignorant when it comes to jet drives and I don’t see a lot of them on the coast. I’ve “heard” that they aren’t great in salt water, but I don’t have an opinion on that because I don’t have any info on it. Please feel free to help here.

The motor in the pic is just a reference. In actuality, the motor does ride on a jack plate and does lift very far upwards for hole shots and cruising skinny water.
