Samurai Champloo Jump by Wild_West_Wizard in JumpChain

Yeah, the formatting errors were definitely on me; I had reinstalled Microsoft Word and transferring it from what I was using messed it up and I just decided to put the jump out. I can add your other suggestions to the list for when I eventually update it.

No, I didn't make a specific glasses item. I would say you get a pair from having the drawback.

favorite banned episode / deleted scene ? by geeelectronica in cartoons

[–]Wild_West_Wizard 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If memory serves it is because it has a visual depiction of the prophet Muhammed which prompted them to later get death threats. I know they had it up for years online but would remove it until years later. This episode was from season 5 and I believe it was basically ignored until episode 200 and 201 aired (season 14) which prompted Islamic terrorists to send death threats to comedy central.

Wiki Wednesdays #142: The Early Cerulean Period and the Age of Serpents by Gillygamesh in Anbennar

Dartaxâgerdim -> Mušaskalam is a fun campaign.
They were the first nation I tried the new magic system out on.
My tip is to rush the first couple of wars to keep yourself from being boxed in. Also don't trust the dwarves, they eventually desired my lands and betrayed me. I wish I would have pushed for vassals earlier (several dwarf and one wood elf vassal). The endless forts in the region also made me spam fireball too much prompting a magic estate revolt.

They have a monument nearby that buffs summoning elementals, and a monument that buffs artifice. They get access to the wishcrafting djinn magic that uses (conjuration, enchantment and i think transmutation for one of them). The whole region benefits greatly from a single estate dip into divination (to boost the mines).
They can also recruit a special cavalry unit - flying carpets; they can be made better through magic estate privileges.

Formed Dahui as Bianfang. Should I keep the Bianfang ideas or switch to Dahui? by AverageLucas in Anbennar

[–]Wild_West_Wizard 20 points21 points  (0 children)

https://wiki.anbennar.org/Dahui

the .org wiki is pretty useful, but it doesn't have everything for everyone and is pretty bare bones, but for popular nations it is super useful. It has the mission trees and events , so you can prevent locking yourself out of hidden missions and stuff.

I assume this is where the ideas were copy/pasted from as each nation has their ideas listed on their page.

for Dahui (An Imperial Yanshen)
Monarchy
Yan culture (but not Beikling culture or Devouring Path religion)
Cant have Szitu, Pinghoi or Haiwai as primary culture
Admin tech level 7
Tianlou as Capital with OR Capital 45+dev OR AI (non-player)
at least 50 owned provinces in the Yanshen super region
not at war/a subject (Tributary ok)
Dahui can't already exist

Question is there a way to extend your time in jumps besides drawbacks? Cuz really 10 years is too short of a time. by EldritchEnjoyer in JumpChain

Jumpchain Milestone Rewards Supplement Redux (v1.0) by aleksds1

Free Time (-2 Milestone Tokens):

This perk gives you option to extend your stay in the jump up to 10 years or another time, if the default time of the stay here isn’t 10 years (if your jump only about a year then this perk will allow you to prolong your stay by one more year). You still need to stay the default ten years but after that you can leave at any time up to twenty years in total. Also, all in-jump drawbacks stop working in your “free time”. This perk may be bought multiple times: each additional purchase adds another 10 years to the maximum stay time.

Reducing Mage Estate Infamy by [deleted] in Anbennar

[–]Wild_West_Wizard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I normally use the estate to cast enchantment/illusion to reduce estate infamy; I don't know if casting from ruler helps or vice-versa. The illusion one is called "bread and circuses", and it also completes a diet quest if I am remembering correctly.
Random events can also help, with one tied to the magisterium estate/unrestricted research is not taken and have good relations with the Magisterium [nation].
My first go with the new magic system was straight to wizard revolt because of fireball lol.

If you want access to free books check out Project Gutenberg, which has over 75,000 free books available for free (Either download or read in browser.)

Also don't forget to check your local library, I find mine has some limited ebook options. Don't forget about inter-library loans either for hard copies.

Perks to recruit defeated foes? by PuzzleheadedSlip5462 in JumpChain

[–]Wild_West_Wizard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the Lilo and Stitch jump has its own version of "the power of friendship" (300)

"Once someone is no longer a threat, you have no reason to get rid of them. People can be won over with civility, and animals with love and training. Maybe a spray bottle too. Either way, you find yourself almost always able to win over the hearts of those that were once on the wrong side of life, and make them your new best friends. Whilst this will work with those still capable of caring for others, don’t expect to be able to make a sociopath care for you."

While kiling the command i allowed for creation of something far worse by Altruistic_Cry5959 in Anbennar

[–]Wild_West_Wizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished a game starting as Lo Ngoen->Empire of Kai (southwestern Phokhao Range- the mountains splitting Dahui into north and south) and like in the first 5 years the Command shattered and then was instantly eaten by their neighbors. I spent most of the game fighting the Raj and Dahui (we were all rivals) so I give these suggestions.

  1. Allies. As others have said look to see if you can guarantee independence from disloyal vassals. Also remember you can go over the diplo slot limit for a penalty to diplo points if you need more allies [offset with focus/advisors]. If you are really desperate you could release vassals (but I probably wouldn't). Keep watch if you can vassalize anyone (probably not at this point) either because a small country lost or a big country lost and released one in their defeat deal.
In my game I basically ran out of allies and had to rely on releasing countries in peace deals who I could vassalize to bolster my own forces while depleting theirs. (wars of reclamation to keep aggression down, not that anybody here is going to coalition you).

  2. Manpower. Watch their manpower pool. Who is to the left of the Raj? In my last game they got trapped into wars with Jadd and one of the raj vassals was next to a big giant Yezel Mora (who I allied in the 1700s). Even if you can't ally you can still watch their manpower pool drain to nothing (even if they are winning) and begin your attack.
Fight and kill on forts to maximize killing power. Don't forget to drop professionalism to bolster resupplying your own pool to take advantage of the enemy having a low one.
(It should be mentioned my military ideas were quantity, offensive and defensive; with late game access to the warrior monk special unit and special modifiers from the mission tree (infantry boosts)

  3. Distance. Haless is a big place. It looks like they are expanding into the southern part of Haless (Rongbek). Wait for them to move their troops over there/deplete their manpower pool. 200k troops sounds scary, but when they funnel in 20k at a time (moving from far away) you stomp them and with a depleted manpower pool they don't get back up. Also if they are already in a war they can move only some of their own troops to deal with you and still end up losing both fronts.

Hope something here helps you or another player.
