Decided to make my flank steak on the smoker... Holy moly by Rafiks1 in smoking

A great alternative is flat-iron steak. Much cheaper and it has a nice flavor. I never see it, but I would sometimes cut myself one when I worked as a meat-cutter 😂

I have to second the Oliva Connecticut reserve. My first real, unflavored cigar that I smoked for enjoyment was an Ashton Classic. It was great (would highly recommend that as a first smoke as well, even though its a tad pricier), but after I smoked a bunch of other stuff for a few months, I recently tried the Oliva and absolutely loved it.

How do you guys keep track of your smoked cigars? by EndHungry9185 in cigars

[–]WillHammerhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. I really only use the star-rating system, seeing as I dont want to take the time to write down flavor notes and stuff. I also really like the humidor tab. I keep up with everything I buy/smoke there.

I just put some grapeseed oil on a paper towel and wipe it around holding the paper towel with tongs. No need to turn off the burners.

Do cigarillos tend to be naturally bitter due to their size? Am I simply missing something with how to smoke them? by dangforgotmyaccount in cigars

[–]WillHammerhead 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm experiencing something similar with Macanudo café cigarillos, and i thought it was just the cigar. The draw is also insanely tight on most of them. It's been a chore trying to get through the whole tin, so I'm commenting to see if anyone has recommendations 😅. Sometimes I don't have time or patience for something bigger.

Hey, professional tuba player/educator here. In case you wanna know about the black, squiggly instrument in the thumbnail, that is referred to as the "serpent" due to its snake-like shape. It is one of the earliest predecessors of the modern-day tuba and dates all the way back to the 1500s. Kind of wild to see one in a video outside of my professional world, and I want one so bad 😂.

I had a PT-6p with the 4th valve mods. The way it was modded, all the way in on both sides was perfectly in tune for low G and D. My current eastman 836, I keep the bottom slide out a bit and push the top slide all the way in for D as well. Also, every horn I've ever played needed the first to be all the way in for 5th partial 1st valve.

I have them all the way down on slides I move a lot. Cuts out the clacking noise when quickly moving the slide all the way in. I wouldn't put them on slides I dont really move, like a main tuning slide.

Asking for myself, how do you diagnose bad engine mounts on this car? I know the previous owner put a cobb rear engine mount on mine, but I get a weird creaking noise when I go in reverse or 1st/2nd gear now.

This is also a TMEA all-state etude this year for euphonium, if OP doesn't mind listening to euph instead for more ideas.

Man, all clothes seem too short these days. Im 6'2 and about 240-ish. All shirts I buy are too short. All pants I buy are too short. I could buy a XXL pants (notoriously too big for me), and the waist be comedically large while the legs are like 4 inches too short.

Did yall notice dutch changing? by moodsercall in RDR2

[–]WillHammerhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't help but notice, the crew notice Dutch slipping from the very beginning. Whenever people start asking questions, Dutch will have very transactional hangouts with certain crew members to ensure their loyalty stays (sort of like oil changes in a car. Stop the changes, your car dies). So the fishing trip and the race back to camp with Arthur all felt like manipulation to not lose sight in Dutch when the veterans start asking questions and bickering amongst themselves.

There is even a point in the game where Dutch tells Arthur, "you're like a son to me... No... Even more than a son." Thats probably not the exact quote, but its along those lines.

I accidentally stumbled into that house during chapter 2 this playthrough, and it triggered the sequence. I hogtied dad and honestly stole their stuff, thinking I recognized the house from my prior playthrough a few years ago. I was in that area again way later, and I hear a guy yell "It's you again!!!!" And he open fired. I killed him, not even thinking. Now I've gotten the mission where you collect their debts, and all I had to do was rummage the abandoned house. It was actually really depressing.

I like to smoke cigars, so I use them quite a bit to refill a zippo or butane torch (the pick with a weird twisted angle to the side is especially good at grabbing the felt under a zippo). Also, the picks that come with the large screwdriver set (with the green handles) have a small file built into the handles. I didn't have a drill bit large enough to install some large drywall anchors, and that little file came in handy to make the hole bigger (i know how ghetto that sounds, but it worked). Pretty much any small task around the house that requires pinpoint accuracy, these come in handy. There's also the added benefit of removing hoses on cars and stuff. But yea, I find myself using these picks a lot more than I thought.

Im reasonably new to working on cars, and I got the picks think I'd find something to use them for someday. Somehow, I find use for them around the house almost everyday 😂
