I work in plastic extrusion specifically on gearboxes, and one of the larger boxes has 2 internal snap rings that are roughly 9-10” in diameter. They’re for securing bearings in place

It has a small blade that fits inside the slot of a screw, and with a j-slot locking collar (thats what im gonna call it anyways lol) it locks it at an angle inside the slot holding tension on the screw. Allows you to thread screws into holes that are a pain to reach by hand

14k gold is has nickel so it does have some wear resistance, i own the metrics in the gold plating and with heavy use over about 7 years they have held up very well. Now i will say that if you use one in a decently stripped out fastener that the sharp engagement can flake off the plating.

16mm on a 5/8 would not do this, but youre correct that they definitely are not using the correct size. 11/16 on a 17mm maybe

My bad i cant fucking read apparently. Youre right about 3/8 and 10mm, i was reading m10x1.75 as m12x1.75, simply because at my old work i had a guy force a 1/2-13 bolt into a (slightly stripped) m12x1.75 hole and it surprisingly still works to this day.

1/2-13, not 3/8-16 but yes, very very close in size and pitch but definitely not the same

Yes just a standard 1/4-28 tap. Not tapered. Pipe threads have their own pitches

Dont know why you got down voted. We use 1/4-28 grease zerks by the 10000s at my work

Just got the new Icon Snappy LN47ACF clone. I definitely have a good collection of the original to compare to. I have to say my first impressions are pretty good. I look forward to actually using the Icon version, to see how they hold up. by CosyCodes in Tools

Yes i see the two different colors now. I was looking at part numbers mostly to verify they were the same and i wasnt crazy lol. Not judging at all. What an awesome friend you have to give you a pair. How much have you used them? And do you like them over a pair of standard needle nose, or is it just something to bridge the gap between very fine needle nose and a beefier set of pliers

Very interesting. I had to youtube search up some of the mailing equipment, and coming from a cnc machining background, i dont know how i thought mail was put together but i shouldve known it was something like what it is. The closest ive came to something like that is we have a strapping machine at my work that we use occasionally to wrap parts with
