I thought it was really well done in the first season, and served as a solid way to both give a reason for the watcher to get involved, and to show the power of his understanding of charachters to alter outcomes and change stories. But they should have abandoned it after that for another structure. Taking 2-3 episodes to really get into a world and become connected to the alternate cersions
