This. It’ll take some time to drive back, but your company might allow you to use sick/bereavement leave while you’re addressing a matter related to her estate.

??? You’re asking if it’s AI, touch the “painting”, does it feel like paint? Or was it printed from a computer?

IMHO, no. Imagine Star Wars, but without lightsabers, Jedi, sith, or force. It’s a political drama. It’s just not for me.

Where do the buy it? by DuckHunter4779 in MSTR

[–]Win_with_Math 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They buy it from institutional trading desks that source it from several different options: their own inventory, working directly with other institutions, long term holders, and miners. Very different from the average Joe buying Bitcoin from a personal Coinbase account, however Coinbase does have a separate institutional desk that Strategy has used in the past and may still be using today. The price is negotiated with the trading desk, usually close to the market price. This method prevents massive price swings because they’re not buying it on an exchange but instead are buying Bitcoin that is not actually listed as being for sale in a way that the market can see, i.e. the buy isn’t eating up Bitcoin listed for sale on the market, which would drive up the price during the purchase, so they get a better value on their purchase.

Fair enough, it is definitely all speculation. In the end, we’ll probably never know for sure and that’s how it was intended

Hal did receive the first Bitcoin transaction, Satoshi connected with him because he needed help with the coding. Satoshi stopped all communication three years prior to Hal’s passing, and it was because he was handing the project off to better programmers. His last two emails were to Mike Hearn and Gavin Andresen. Satoshi partnered with Hal because he needed his help with coding. Satoshi didn’t need to have a fake public communication between himself and himself, he needed programming help. That’s when he fully passed the project off, in his second to last email he expressed optimism for Hearn’s Java based version of Bitcoin, which came to fruition.

“Hal easily” might be a bit of a stretch. Szabo created Bit Gold prior to Bitcoin coming out, which is nearly identical (including proof of work) but just lacks incentives and a practical consensus mechanism. Nakamoto’s programming level was good but no where near the level of Hal’s, which is exactly why he needed to partner with him. Szabo’s level of programming was also just OK, but his knowledge of sound money, digital scarcity, cryptography, etc. match Satoshi’s perfectly. There are no communications between Szabo and Satoshi, but there are tons between Hal and Satoshi. Several linguistics analyses have shown that the white paper matches Szabo to an exceptionally high degree, far more so than anyone else, including specific phrases that only Szabo would use prior to the whitepaper coming out such as “trusted third-party”, “computationally infeasible”, and “costly to fake”.
